It is now about the 3%. If you are a protected whiner then any thing you want, no matter how inconvenient it is for the rest of the world.

Your feeling are all that matter in the whole world, again if you are part of the 3%,

Counter it and say you are triggered by no scales there, making you feel like your body is being shamed for its numbers and therefore not having it in the first place or some such nonsense.

A scale is a tool used to provide objective fact. This is what we have been coming to I guess. Facts are now offensive.

Climate change debate can get pretty heated, on both sides. I suggest we get rid of all thermometers.

It seems as though the Canadian schools have caught the idiocy. Maybe they can put the scales in a limited access secure facility with the universal "No Snowflake" on the vault doors so no one is triggered by inadvertently seeing the evil scales. You just can't unsee a scale.

Maybe instead of removing them, they should have students sign a waiver before stepping on them. In the waiver would be acknowledgement that the facility is not responsible for any psychological distress that results from stepping on the scale.

I found weighing myself before a shower everyday helped me keep my weight close to my ideal...

I quit weighing myself many years ago and ballooned up to 235lbs I don't know what the hell that is in stone or kilos for those of different weights and measures... but a bout of the flu for two weeks and then pneumonia for about three weeks made me drop 30ish lbs. So I figured hey, lemme get a scale and keep this going... lost about 2-5 lbs a week adding more fiber and cutting down on caloric intake to match my activity level soon I was where I wanted to be at 140ish slightly under recommended weight only because I haven't picked up a routine of excerise to get more blood hanging out in the muscle groups.

So triggered? Maybe such a thing should be considered "optional" instead of such an extreme of outright removing them altogether... I am sure some want to know how much they weigh; so what they should suffer because some don't want to know or already do but are self conscious of it?

Just make the crap optional.

it is clear the inanimate objects was hurling insults like this.

But then they called Saul, and hence the topic was born.

It was all a misunderstanding though, the scale was just trying to sing this song. Your eyes will never unsee this though.

This is just one more layer in the stupid layer cake that is today's campuses. What the actual heck...

I get it. Percentage of fat, BMI, or whatever the new thing is right now, is less mentally "damaging" than weight.

But, c'mon!!! It gives you an idea of whether or not you're making any progress when you have a lot of weight to lose. Once you hit a general target, then you can start using the other tools to decide what's optimal.

I'm truly worried for the future if we keep heading in this direction. And I'm flat out sick of hearing the word "triggering."

Ah is a good mantra; we even say it without awareness it is a mantra, as an enlightented response; Ah(as in perspective) or in this case Ahhhhhh! as in fear being enlightened to Johnny's preoccupation with Jenny's weight when she just wants acceptance for her in total that has nothing to do with numbers; of course it may have to do with numbers and Jenny goes Ahhhhhh again because if she is not to Johnny's liking he may look at someone else and say "hit me with the digits" of course Jenny is best to at that moment realize Ahhh Johnny is a superfical bastard and little does "hit me with the digits" future girl yet to come realize? Is that Johnny will likely ask her the same as he has Jenny "hit me with the digits" but not of the phone number sort.

This topic is so silly it deserves something in the way of entertainment.

It honestly won't do anything for Jenny except remove the enamel from her teeth, give her bad breath, erode her esophagus, screw up the mucosa in her stomach and well most calories some 90ish percent are absorbed in the act of eating itself not during digestion.

Next, let's take the weight markings off all the machines so people won't feel triggered by the fact they can't bench as much as another person. And take the km/miles and incline markings off the treadmills.

You know, what this all comes back to is a group of people who never learned to compete, or deal with success or failure, because in their childhood no one won or lost and everyone got the same prize. Now they're faced with a sort of implacable benchmark, one that won't go away, and one which gives them a remorseless feedback on their performance. So it has to go.

Dumbest thing I ever read and oh please... what doesn't trigger people these days!

Sure there are other ways in which to measure your health or progress to getting fit like measurements, BFI, how your clothes fit, how you feel, etc. But how can you have a real starting point if you don't know where you're starting? How do you set a goal if you don't know where you're starting. Ridiculous! Get on the scale and suck it up! If you're not happy with the number you see.... change it!
Fat shaming, thin shaming, body shaming, gender shaming.. really? I'm so tired of reading about it and hearing about it. I'm totally sick of this whole "It's okay to be obese, love the skin you're in" thing! I am sorry but it is NOT ok to be obese and unhealthy. You can love yourself all day long but it's not healthy to be un healthy!
