True.
I would rather more be spent on research than war (defense). However, this is the real world and we must live in it.

Where did I express an opinion on Trump (in this thread)?

"Except of course, for the history (and belief system) of its new head.
No cause for concern there, right?"

This is due to 6 spheres that make each one indifferent.

Aside from that Obama, had immoral attitudes in defending what he defended in a Middle East taken of her impulse from a bloody Babylonian eugenics.

You're not Yoda ... you're the guy that writes on all those little strips of paper in fortune cookies!

Seriously though ... the topic is partisan political control being exerted over scientific inquiry and advancement.

The 6 spheres of learning do not fit together, because wars are balged, and where you have to be the last bastion of peace, there will always be the first bastion of attack, this equation causes unbalance in profit

The military sphere survives from the scientific sphere for weaponry by 70% and 30% are destined for research.

ah ok i just inferred that and its my bad. in regards to scott pruitt, while i dont agree with him on many things with the clean water act, there are portions of his views that i do agree with when it comes to certain things with climate change. some of what is at the core of peoples outrage with him though was allready passed in a joint resolution by congress but was vetoed by then president barack obama. i agree that i wish they had chosen someone else though cause he gets pretty out there with some of his beliefs for big business.

And who better to oversee scientists than politicians?

You mean there is a difference today between politicians and Obama era scientists? Who would have guessed that?

Trump and a couple of his people will be peer review of science? Ya, that works.

The only reason is to withhold something that goes against what lobbyists have bought.

They work for the American people, not you Mr Trump.

I cannot understand why the scientific community would be concerned about their research being made public, unless their credibility is at stake. Is it not perfectly reasonable, if not entirely responsible to show all the evidence to substantiate their research so there is no question on the validity of their claims?

OMG, climate science work being made available to the public, clearly Trump is a fascist!!! Science should welcome scrutiny, Science should welcome their work being released to the public. If they don't want these things, you should question "why not?" Science is fantastic, don't be fooled though, there is a lot of money to be made in science, and where there is money, there is greed and corruption. Big science is no different than big oil or big government, money is always at the center.

I don't think they are. Isn't this about it not being public until Trump & Co say it can be.

I guess you missed the part about it not being made public until it's "approved." Or you missed the point.

I'm guessing the latter.

this was something talked about in jan. since then there has been no executive orders or change in business with the EPA. the only ting his executive order might do is ask for them to revise or rescind the cpp. the EPA themselves will be the ones to make that determination. so far all there is with this story is assumptions based off of peoples bias without proof and whatever changes may be coming they will be negative. i am with u with pruitt though phage. he really is quite the radical.

These are the same people debating that education is lacking while denying climate science.

Well independent scientists would be a better choice. Politicians have no place verifying scientific data.

I never said that I agreed with politicians doing the oversight but someone needs to.

I pissess me off when people act like people can't lie or take bribes to move a decimal or fudge some numbers, just because they are "scientists". Every field is open to corruption, science is no different.

Remember when a whole bunch of scientists said cigarettes were safe? Oh yeah opium and chloroform was safe for medicine too. People make mistakes or straight up are corrupt.

Considering some of the over reach that has occurred by the epa, like insane fines for building a fish pond, or collecting rain water, claiming every bit of water in the US falls under the clean water act.... a little over sight is badly needed on the epa in my opinion.

So on the surface of it I have no problem with this... if the politicians and their appointees use this to suppress information that the people should have I have a problem with it.

Peer Review is a standard in science.

Yes, it is.

And that is precisely why there is a scientific consensus across the board on various things, and why "science" is what it is: because it has been peer reviewed, and it holds its weight.

but when your peers are not qualified to review it what do you do? Alot of this"consesnsus" is just from left leaning scientist who exclude the right leaning scientist. SO its nto a 100 percent peer review.
