not sure how smart would it be to tell TPTB "Hey gonna drop some disclosure. Kill me while you can". That is unless someone is playing his shady game, wanting to get some fame or I'm simply wrong and I really hope that I am.

Major announcement is probably his new book and maybe another AMA.

He seems like the type to capitalize on the subject using what little influence he has.

Kinda like Steven Greer, but a little less corny.

Maybe he will announce a Blink 182 reunion tour because that would be more credible.

What he said was laughable. Dulce? an urban legend because their are so many people that have found the base, but locals or google earth can't find it. Hitlers goons in Antarctica? researchers have been there for decades and i've never read of any UFO sightings from there.

Mr DeLonge is deluding himself if he thinks he is a UFO researcher. And when he bangs on about how he has read UFO books for 20 years well guess what? So have I and many others so where's our medals? I've read the Condon report, Project blue book and so forth and this reward is a slap in the face to real researchers such as MUFON.

If a pseudo rock star talks about an 'alien uprising' at Dulce and a respectable ufologist tells a "viewer" that those lights in the sky are probably military chaff who would you believe? A good ufologist will tell you the U in UFO stands for 'unidentified' and not 'aliens.'

This. I don't believe a word that's come out of his mouth...

I didn't waste my time on his books because of that so I give you props for actually reading them. You're a stronger person than I am, lol!

If disclosure would happen in my opinion it would just happen. They don't need to pick any civilian to prepare the masses. Most people wouldn't care or believe nowadays, some more religious would go nuts, some theocrats might go rouge but that's the margin that will happen whatver they will prepare us or simply air the breaking news. The only job that all those annoncement did so far was to just bore many interested people and pull them away from seeking the truth.

whatever it might have been UNTIL NOW, now there is NO MORE TIME to wait. After 60 days is Fatima May 13 with pope going in place to mark the 100th anniversary start (end Oct 13) that is said by Benedict to see the fulfillment of the secrets...whatever it means.

I bet we will have hovering ships in daylight by May 13, and ET messages on our mobile phones. Anything short of that is not worth the name, after decades of pictures, abductions, visits of Area 51 and so on. We either have it, NOW, or we are doomed altogether in whatever cataclysm approaches.

Don't care what people say, i am particularly hyped with this announcement.

I just want to mention the Antarctic as well. Although obviously have no clue about specifics, I just want to leave that out there.

Lots of fun at the south pole.

The thread title says that Tom DeLonge is "UFO Researcher of the Year".

Could someone point me to the website that describes how this award of distinction is determined?

I'm 75% into the first book and a couple of chapters into the new one so have yet to get to the meat and will reserve judgement. But on the whole here, when did getting new, revised or re-imagined info on such an important matter get so laborious for everyone?

I remember getting Dr John E Mack's 'Abduction' in 94 and having my worldview completely shattered. That happened to be the same year I started having OBEs which continue to this day. Likewise, shattering.

23 years on and theres hardly any other meaningful books ready for the latest generation to wonder over. Dr Rick Strassman has gone further than most to bring a new take on the phenomenon, expanding on Dr Mack's experiments and resetting it within the realms of the personal inner world, along with Graham Hancock who shares the Dimethyltryptamine-as-gateway outlook as the most likely place to find other 'entities'.

The 1940s nuts and bolts UFO mindset seems archaic when confronted with the experienced 'truths' of personal testimony; mental and synchronistic happenings that are more in tune with religious visions. It doesnt and probably never will make sense for beings to travel across distances when people can vibrate into strange new worlds as they're innocently trying to grab some sleep. 'They're' already there, waiting.

So reading DeLonge/Levanda's efforts are a positive thing for me because I choose to have more information than no further information. One nugget of gold can lead to a cave of riches.

I get it, I understand people's apathy because all you good folks of ATS and beyond have already put the legwork in only to be burnt by a few shady authors. Now I've not read them at all because of the slating they've had here, so who knows what revelations I've missed/dog s**te I've dodged!

If it's too hard to pick up another book and be openminded once more, well then maybe go and do something more mundane because this subject obviously doesn't interest you anymore... but for my 17 year old self in 1994... this book might change my life.

m.youtube.com...

It was for the "2017 international UFO congress conference" held by open minds....tv.

I found no guidelines, no other nominees, no criteria for how or why he won. They just gave it to him. And if you paid $369 you too could have sat in a metal folding chair in hot hotel conference room watched DeLonge's pre-recorded acceptance speech on an over head projector.

Delonge didn't even show up to accept it.

You can't make this stuff up.

Using UFO logic, prople must at one time flew around on mythical flying horses, gaint birds, and flying dragons? And used spells to invoke demon possessions?

This thread has item after item of "extraterrestrial visitation"? If you are not confusing fantasy for fact, why do you need disclosure for what you think is true? One man, after thousands of years, holds the key to disclosure. Yes, ufology is strange?

Seems a bit suspect why he received the award. I am not aware of any revelations DeLonge has provided past what we have all been reading about for the better part of 20 years now. IMO he was awarded this because he is more easily relateable to the Millennials who are the now generation to continue UFOlogy which has been riddled with kooks the past 10 years. If the award were legitimately based on the purest definition of the word "researcher" then Koi wins this by a landslide.

Sucks that even in UFOlogy politics dips it gruesome hand as well.

I don't doubt DeLonge's passion of UFOlogy but I do not consider him a "researcher".

Watch this video from 2008 for some insight into why DeLonge is marketing his UFO disclosure in the manner he is. Very, very insightful.
