A professor of economics recreated the Presidential debates with a twist. She recreated the debates using a female actor to play Trump and a male actor to play Hillary. However, the politicians' names were changed to fictional characters but the actual transcripts of the Presidential debates were used.

Many on the left have opined that Trumps behavior would not have been tolerated if he was a woman. Her results were surprising when the debate was performed for mostly academics. Overwhelmingly, the female Trump won as she was more likeable even though Trump was bashed in real life for the same behaviors.

With the help of Joe Salvatore, a professor who specializes in something called ethnodrama, Guadalupe set up a recreation of sections of the original debates using actors to play the roles of Trump, Clinton and the moderator. All the words the actors spoke were taken from transcripts. The candidates’ body language and delivery were studied and the actors did their best to match it moment-to-moment to video feeds from the actual debates. The only difference was that Donald Trump was now a woman renamed Brenda King while Hillary was now a man dubbed Jonathan Gordon.

Initially, both Guadalupe and Salvatore had little doubt what the experiment would reveal, i.e. Trump’s behavior would never be tolerated coming from a woman while Clinton’s competence would be even more obvious coming from a man. But as rehearsals for the performance of the reimagined debates went on, Guadalupe and Salvatore were surprised by what they were feeling about the two candidates. It turned out the woman version of Trump seemed more likable than they had imagined. Salvatore told Guadalupe during rehearsals, “I kind of want to have a beer with her!”

I think its pretty safe to say this mental exercise is baloney, since if Trump was a woman he would get nothing done (let alone find time for a debate) spending all day locked in trump tower grabbing his own pussy.

(maybe this is where that experiment missed out on) they should have had a woman who looks like Trump...possibly Russian KGB type...Yes I know that sounds sexist, but I'm thinking more comedy SNL style, but then the whole shebang experiment was really sexist anyway.

Jesus. It took this exercise for these people to realize this? The entire "hate Trump" sentiment was created by the media.

I think the part about people thinking the smile on the man made them want to punch him was interesting. I was following a live chat stream on another blog during the actual debates, and there was a lot of commentary about that smile. Understand this was a conservative blog, but the commentary was that the smile made her look condescending, arrogant, smug, made people want to smack her, and that whoever coached her to constantly smile like that made a tactical error because she came off as really unlikable because of it.

Clearly, this was something that even the other side was seeing when they swapped the actual person out of the picture and just put in the mannerisms.
