Deep Connection with an Author/Book

Hi everyone,

There's one book(The Charioteer by Mary Renault) that I've connected to above all other books. I feel like that book was meant for me almost? I've had 2 other friends try reading it and they didn't even like it enough to finish it.

The writing appeals to me, the plot appeals to me, everything seems perfect to me.

Does any of you have a "perfect to you" book like that?

Yes, I cannot recall the name but it had to due with verdant chicken ova and a smoked pork product.

Yes, John Ringo's The Last Centurian. I didn't even agree with alot he had to say, but the way he laid out events flowed perfectly.
