The alarmists gotta get rid of this guy, he's making their side look very bad.

Tucker Carlson asked Nye a simple question about climate science. How much difference do humans make? After all, Nye had said this was settled science, and has suggested at times that "deniers" be jailed. Tucker just wanted to know what that settled science said. Nye claims it is "100 % if thats the number that you want." It is not only Nye who could not answer Carlson's questioning. It could have just as easily been Mann, Jones, Hansen or any of the others. Is it any wonder there has been no public debate on the subject of Climate Change?

The best part is at the end of the video where Nye goes off on a tangent and tells us "You guys are the mainstream media and I can tell you why there are leaks, the President has created two factions within this administration and they don't like each other, so they leak, it's not from the outside it's from the inside, carry on mr. Carlson, I'm sure we'll cross paths again." He'd make a great candidate for the dems, maybe we will see him run for office.

They keep trotting Nye out because they think it will keep the twenty and thirty-somethings in lock-step since they grew up watching him, hoping that nostalgia will keep them in line. He's having the opposite effect in my opinion, I'd like to see more public debate on climate change in the future.

Just obey. Don't question, don't be skeptical.
Just accept what others tell you because they are always right and are never wrong.

Wholly smokes, that was super uncomfortable to watch if your on the side of human caused climate change.

All Nye could say was its because of us and it's happening really fast because of us. No data to share just more guilt and fear.

Nye sounds more like a religious man trying to explain faith.

Yeah no data whatsoever, well , except for all that science out there.

This was so hard to watch, watching Carlson with that dumb look on his face trying to comprehend something he has no clue about.

What is so hard to understand that climate has been affected by all the chemicals we are tossing in the and water or that all the drilling and taking of fossil fuels has affected the earth.

Yeah climate has been changing fast because of those issues, it is not that hard to comprehend. The difference between past climate changes and this one, is the speed of the change.

Yes there is climate change but its not cowfarts or coal powered power stations its geoengineering and chemtrails and the world is going screwy from it there was a blizzard in Hawaii the other day,900 million birds have died world wide with bird flu, zombies are real and now on the streets of Brazil, its all happening but you wouldn't know it because the only thing in the world that matters is Trump and his ****ing smart phone.

I wouldn't say it was a blizzard, snow on Hawaii's peaks is not uncommon in the colder months because they are nearly 14,000 feet high. Mauna Kea has a sub-Arctic climate.

zombies are real and now on the streets of Brazil, its all happening

zombies are real? Do you have a source for this?

This is about your spokesman Nye, and him poorly representing your position.

Do you think Bill did a good job convincing the audience of your position?

We all know the sky is falling because we are addicted to fossils fules. Well lead by example right, let's see some legislators carpooling instead of flying off in thier jests.

Don't tell me it's my fault and make me do things that your not willing to do yourself. If the earth was seriously in jeopardy these kind of botched interviews would not exist.

I agree with the OP, wanting more public debate on the issue. Don't you?

Bill Nye ... the liar guy.

The interviewer utterly destroyed his Climate Change pedestal ...

... so Bill Nye ends the conversation with some ominous warning about multiple factions in the Trump Camp and 'leaks'???

WTF, over!??!

Nye spoke with Bernie Sanders about a week ago, prior to his interview with Carlson.
The video was taken down in the other thread, but he made some outlandish claims completely beyond reason with regards to the Canadian Oil Sands denuding Alberta of 1/4 of it's forests lol.
Here's the video and a link to the thread.
Nye is an idiot.

I honestly thought it was bad for both sides. But Carlson didn't need to prove anything and had Bill on to talk about some comments he made about skeptics.

I thought the 1750 wine example was piss poor due to the medieval warm period where wine was grown up north, he uses 1750 a time in the little ice age.

What Bill really did show off was that these nouveau aristocrats think they are better than us. It was likely very off putting to viewers.

Hah.

You guys are real jokers. You say he asked a 'simple question' - but there are no simple answers, and to demand such is demonstrating what a fool the questioner is.

Nye couldn't answer anything because Carlson wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise. And that was exactly Carlson's reason for asking him on the show.

Carlson acted like a deranged nutjob and was a demonstrably incompetent interviewer. Nye shouldn't have accepted the gig, he should have known he was asked on to be a punching bag. That was Nye's mistake.

Carlson's mistake was confirming to everyone on the planet earth what an ungracious, ignorant, blowhard, POS, "richard cranium" he is. Again. But then, that's his gig, so he has to continue to prove it every time he opens his mouth.

Nye was actually using the language of an EDUCATOR. Which is exactly what he is: a Science Educator.

Au contraire, Nye clearly states it is 100 percent human caused, you didn't listen closely.

Source? I thought he was a mechanical engineer. What are his credentials to qualify as an educator?

"Whenever... Scientists instead of a lesson in science put [the tax payers ] off with a discourse on the political or religious system, on media and morality, on the construction of government, or the characters or conduct of those administering it, it is a breach of contract, depriving their audience of the kind of service for which they are salaried, and giving them, instead of it, what they did not want, or, if wanted, would rather seek from better sources in that particular art of science." - Thomas Observationalist.

Couldn't resist.

Bill nye....not even astropshics black guy(tyson who put the swag back in science) can help him. As a scientist one thing you do not say it something is settled forever.

No he didn't. He said the rate of change - the speed at which the climate is changing - is human caused. And there is overwhelming scientific data to back up that statement. And Hannity was yelling over the top of him when he said that, or you wouldn't have had to "listen closely" to pick it up. That is probably why your didn't 'listen closely'.

Carlson demanded an answer to a question that cannot be answered, and really made no sense anyway, and wouldn't let Nye give any kind of answer what-so-ever. Of course that is exactly why he asked that question in the way he did, he could look 'reasonable' asking a 'simple' question, when the question isn't simple at all and the answer is even far more complicated.

Source? I thought he was a mechanical engineer. What are his credentials to qualify as an educator?

Yes, comrade, he is a credentialed and experienced mechanical engineer.

I have no idea whether he has any formal 'Educator' credentials, never-the-less, he has been an successful educator for his entire career. Even when actively practicing his mechanical engineering profession at Boeing, he was working in front of camera in training videos (in addition to working on the hydraulics system for the 747). He has been an educator on TV for over thirty years.

You have an odd image of what an 'educator' is.

And Carlson has an odd idea of what science is and what Scientists do.

EDIT2: And, oh yeah. Scientists, even Engineers, ARE educators. Period. Its in their 'job description' so to speak. The whole purpose of 'doing science' is to transmit what you learn to others. It is pointless otherwise.

Carlson: To what extent is human activity responsible for speeding that up?
Nye: 100% if thats the number you want.

Whats Hannity got to do with Billy Nye making the 100% fabrication?

Carlson: What the climate would be like if humans weren't involved right now
NYE: "The climate would be like it was in 1750. And the economics would be that you could not grow wine-worthy grapes in Britain as you can today because the climate is changing. The use of pesticides in the Midwest would not be increasing because the pests are showing up sooner and staying around longer. The forests in Wyoming would not be overwhelmed by pine bark beetles as it is because of climate change. That's how the world would be different if it were not for humans".

I'm glad we're not living in a climate like 1750, like Nye says, we've avoided another ice age.
Also, Ny railing on about 1/2 the worlds population living on the seacoast, the sea level has been going up 1.3 mm a year and is not expected to rise much faster than that.

So, a comedy troupe actor, come PBS ‘Science’ program star, and eventually developing (devolving?) into one of the spokesmen for the Warminista cabal.

What a Curriculum Vitae, I say.
