For most of us it's "alcohol and angst", lol. Mostly luck though.

Some of us who started writing here, found that sometimes a story just practically writes itself...other times it feels like pulling teeth. I hope to see you writing more.

Totally understandable, hope inspiration doesn't wander off for too long....

I wanted to try the January contest with the time traveler motif, but the only thing that came to mind was having either Nostradamus or George Orwell wandering around laughing while telling everyone "I told you so"

Reminds of the tales of being buried alive from the 1800's. You know, back when you were buried with a little string tied to a handle that rings a bell. Talk about fearful!
