I viewing a webiste the other day that claimed the John Lennon assasination was the work of the U.S. government and that Chapman, the murderer, was a sort of "Manchurian Candidate." I have also heard claims that Chapman wasn't even the real murderer and that it was novelist Stephen King. Has anyone else heard these claims and what are your thoughts on them?

Haven't heard the Stephen King one, but that's gotta be false. The next thing we'll hear is that George Harrison was driving the RV that ran down King himself.

As for Chapman, yes, he was definately fixated on the Beatles in a maniacal way. It is not unthinkable that he was one of several MK-Ultra youths placed into controlled, generationally-abusive families and tacitly manipulated along a Beatles-themed madness plan and manipulated into murdering John Lennon at the appropiate time.

As is the case with any good assasination, however, there is also a perfectly plausible "lone nut" story. Frankly, Chapman's "it's all cool now/I'm okay" demeanor indicates mind control, to me. Similar to Sirhan's Sirhan's disorientation and oddness following the killing of RFK.

That John Lennon was a major piece on the geopolitical chessboard of the 20th century cannot be denied. His creativity was unique and all his own, but his ideology was hijacked and used for political and sociological purposes, IMO.

I wouldn't doubt it, Lennon had a large following. He disliked our policies and could've provoked a revolution if he'd pulled the right strings. Silence the opposition and continue self-preservation. He would've most likely been assasinated by people who profited from war, which he opposed.

Alright I visited the site. He wants to sell me a cyber-book(?) for five dollars. This web-dude is trying to sell me a book for five bucks telling me how Stephen King, writer of 'The Stand', murdered John Lennon.

This is utter nonsense. The similarities in these photographs show only that tubby white dudes with greasy hair tend to look evil. NEWSFLASH: They do. To me, it is clear from the picture of Mark Chapman that the Lennon photo shows the same protruding lower lip as Chapmans.

The guy has a case of Beautiful-Mind-itis where you madly search for connections in headlines. This is similar to the Bible Code hoax. If a person searches for a particular thread, they will find groups of letters/words that fit the idea.

I suppose the King family's donating millions of dollars to charities and universities is done to assuage Stephen's evil soul, is that right?

This theory is horse****.

"Beautiful-Mind-itis" is the BEST coinage of phrase I have heard this year and probably last year, too. I will do my part to use it often.
