Another excellent debate, worthy of the finals anywhere else.

Place your votes on who you believe presented the best organized and articulated debate.

But only after reading the whole thread over and over... I think that Ill chose a marvelous angle of attack...in order to espouse that aliens seeded the human race, you must first prove their existence. Granted, Dragonrider had the more difficult position to defend, and did a marvelous job at that....but in the end, I have to give it to Ill... Congrats to both, for a fine debate

I gave it to Illmatic for two reasons.

Firstly, his aggressive humour was great to read and it seemed to put DR on the backfoot.

Secondly and more importantly, DR was flogging a dead horse in my opinion. He was in an unwinnable position.

Illmatic hit the nail on the head with this statement:
"There's no proof that says aliens didnt seed us, but there's also no evidence to say they did."

Although this does not strengthen his argument logically in the case against, it does put him in the stronger position.
DR was trying to prove the unknown. It's always easier trying to disprove the unknown.

Excellent debate.

I havn't been able to make my mind up yet so I am yet to vote.I am naturally of the position of Illumatic but DR made a strong argument for a position he almost certainly does not hold.Illumatic didn't just rely on our predisposition to side with him and fought hard.

Should be close.

I'm going to sleep on it and reread it tomorrow before voting.

Too bad the "luck of the draw" didn't put these two in separate ends of the brackets.

Perhaps in the future, we can hold debates based on some designated seeding level.

All in all, this was a fine example of ATS at its best.

I really enjoyed this debate.

With all due respect, I found Illmatic's use of "blah blah blah" somewhat discrediting, as DR presented a great deal of information to build his case that bolstered his side of the argument in my eyes.

I look forward to the rest of the tourney!
