PUNISHMENT OF CNN MUST BE IMPLEMENTED. This will cause the others to start being PRO-AMERICAN news organizations once again.

Are there any other Constitutional rights you want Herr Trump to step on? The press is protected by the Constitution and after Trumps remarks CNN should put him, his family and his cabinet under a microscope.

Trump was speaking about the news in general, not the news about the leaks in particular. You're paraphrasing the reporter, not Trump.

Thank you for sharing the transcript. However, no, I am paraphrasing Trump as you can see in the second video.

Trump's recent comment paraphrased, "The news is fake, but the leaks are real" really shows how deep the schism is.

The leaks can't be real and the news fake at the same time. If the leaks are real and the reporters are accurately portraying the information they have been given, then by definition they are reporting truthful news stories.

Nowhere in the video, nor transcript, does he say the news about the leaks are fake. He was speaking about the news in general, evidenced by his clarification.

Long time coming, finally needs to be addressed. That includes Fox News.

In particular,

Once a government official is given a platform to denounce media outlets where does it stop?

I agree to a point. Meaning, how would it be regulated properly when there's the side vs side coming into play with it as well.

This is the exact quote from the exchange:

REPORTER: I just want to get you to clarify this very important point. Can you say definitively that nobody on your campaign had any contacts with the Russians during the campaign? And on the leaks, is it fake news or are these real leaks?

TRUMP: Well, the leaks are real. You’re the one that wrote about them and reported them; I mean, the leaks are real. You know what they said, you saw it, and the leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake.

The question was about the leaks. It is right in the video.

Still you neglected to add nor speak about the clarification, which is suspiciously missing from your OP. I added the transcript of both the video you posted, and the clarification question.

He answered the question about the leaks. He said they were real. Then he started talking about fake news in general, not the news on the leaks in particular. You are simply repeating Jim Acosta's misunderstanding, as evidenced by Jim Accostas question.

QUESTION: And if I may follow up on that, just something that Jonathan Karl (ph) was asking you about. You said that the leaks are real, but the news is fake. I guess I don’t understand. It seems that there’s a disconnect there. If the information coming from those leaks is real, then how can the stories be fake?

Trump then goes on to clarify, which again, is suspiciously missing from all the narratives on this topic. You're simply repeating Jim Accostas misunderstanding. Many misapprehensions result from this one misapprehension.

If the leaks were real but the information false would that not make it real and fake at the same time?

They haven't "only" been just criticizing Trump though as Wallace said. They have been carefully wording news to mislead viewers what the intent of the dialog is/was and doing so to cast Trump in a false view of reality. That isn't criticism, it is flagrant lies, and it should be punished severely. And that is what will happen, and it won't turn out good for America or anyone, and you can blame the MSM later when people open their eyes to the truth of what is going on, except some people don't want to see the truth because that would mean coming to terms with their own immorality and lack of responsibility for the truth in their lives.

No. Because Fake News can be something reported, but with a spin, so as to make that something seem like something entirely different, either by adding an additional opinion by the one reporting, or by omission of additional contextual facts.

So, the 'something' is leaked...that part is real. But, the information has been skewed to the point that it has become fake news.

I don't know how to put this any more simply. Paraphrasing is defined as the act or process of restating or rewording.

In response to the question, "And on the leaks, is it fake news or are these real leaks?", Trump literally said word for word,

"The leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake."

I paraphrased it to:

"The news is fake, but the leaks are real."

How is this inaccurate?

The fact that Trump said something so self-contradictory obviously bothers you and you wanted to grok what he really meant by paying close attention to his follow up replies.

To make sure I am not mischaracterizing his actual meaning I just reread the transcript because we've all had brain farts and it would be s#itty to not give Trump a chance to explain himself.

The follow up reply shows Trump saying the news is fake because he says so and something having to do with the tone of the news.

If you believe Trump is saying the news is fake because we should just believe him it's fake (even though he qualified the leaks are real), or because of the tone of the reporting; I'm honestly not sure how to reply because it doesn't make sense to me.

using the words you just posted.. I also watched it..

The leaks are real, but the way you are talking about it is misleading.

Tone is spin..

I didn't read what they said about the leaks so I can't comment further but that's what he's saying.

I would like him to be a little nicer..
Maybe he could issue his statements later in his own news stories were he fact checks and explains why he thinks they are wrong specifically instead of blurting out fake news over and over, but then again they do deserve it in large part.. Not sure how much more they deserve but yea their approval ratings tell the story easy enough.

Their tone is Trump is the end of free speech democracy and the USA and the end of gay rights religious freedom and you know what now Nibiru is coming back because TRUMP!

it gets old..

Tone does not make a story fake. The entire point of what Chris Wallace is saying and of what I wrote directly addresses that.

Fake News happens. Think Macedonian teenagers.

CNN is editorialized news, not fake news. Its news presented with a slant. The reason is simple: you don't get viewers by reporting facts. If you did, then TLC wouldn't have trotted out the side shows, The History Channel would report something other than pawn shops and aliens, and Discovery wouldn't have hoaxed a mermaid story.

The news networks found out you get return viewers by feeding their own bias. People like feeling clued in, and if the news they see confirms their world view, they'll preferentially view news sources that confirm their own insights.

The Macedonian teenagers stated that it was easier to dupe conservatives. This is because Conservatives don't have the breadth of media outlets that they trust. The liberal base does, and thus doesn't seek outside narrative to confirm their worldview. They have all they need right there, holding the gaze of all their friends.

It's so delicious that those unelected media elites have finally started to see that they actually have to answer for their lies. Washington media has been feeling like their s&^t didn't stink for way too long. Good on Trump for calling it out.

Basically, the press is censoring what anyone (even the president) can say about them.

Really? Gee, I could have sworn I saw, heard and read what Trump said, about the media being enemies of the American people, being reported on ALL the news outlets and sites! How is that censoring?

Not only that, but they ran the video of the statement.,.. and there's videos of the whole hour-plus out there.

So they didn't make it up.

tone is emotion you set the tone and can make good things look bad.. it's a form of molding minds that I am familiar with from being around psy ops guys.. If you feel like Trump is bad you can make anything he does look bad. So you change people positions on issues using emotion..

and look it's like people think russians are hiding behind every bush they're in the whitehouse and they are trying to take over Europe...

None of that is true..

but if you watch CNN.. You'll get angry at me for not being afraid of the russian invasion.

Actually, we do tend to seek other sources. I admit to using the same five in most cases (lazy) - but two (BBC and Al Jazeera) are non-American and so I get an external view of the news.
