Good Morning Shed Family!

I have been time travelling this morning.
I have been re-reading the threads that came before The Shed, to try to find the very origins of the "Shed", and to explain why we're in a "Shed" instead of some other building, lol.

This thread/story has been alive for just over 3 years now!!
That is quite a feat for a busy site like this one. (we should have a party)

I had already decided to "move in" by February 16, 2014 when I wrote this reply to our OP angelchemeul (Jane):
"Jane, I think this thread will last for years, and become thousands of pages long.
We seem to have 'adopted' you. (Some of us have already moved in.)"
Valentine Greetings

When the "Valentine Greetings" thread was shut down, Jane started a new thread for us to continue in.
The Rainbows Room

She wrote this: "This is our new shed where NightStar and jacygirl look after our ferrets and dragons."

Jane also posted our theme song "Rainbows Room" by our very own Gordi (it's in her OP, follow the link).

On February 24, 2014...after the "Rainbows Room" thread was shut down...I wrote a story called:
The Shed

In the 4th chapter of the story, after meeting all the other characters (members)...I was finally getting to see The Shed:
"Tsu and Night Star jumped up and clapped their hands."
"Show her the dragons!"
"Show her the shed!"

After I posted the story a lot of chit-chat ensued. The Mods weren't sure what to do with us, because it was posted in "Short Stories" and the chatting was off topic.
I appealed to them that the chatting was what was fuelling my imagination for the story, so they graciously moved us to "Chit-Chat" where we've been allowed to stay.

After I had written 8 chapters of story into the thread, on February 27, 2014...Tsu wrote her own story of her journey to finding The Shed...and shortly after that Gordi also wrote himself into the story with his own journey.
A collaboration was born.

Nothing was planned or discussed, it all just came together rather magically.
And here we are today, 3 years later.
Night Star was the one who kept persevering, kept posting and writing...and kept this place alive when some of us had to live in "real life" for a while. She will remain as permanent "hostess" mother/guide/sister/warrior/friend...as long as The Shed remains.

Every single member who has participated has helped to build this magnificent place.
We have been blessed with incredibly talented writers who have gone on to participate (and win!) short story contests...we've thrown various party threads to celebrate personal victories/birthdays etc., and supported each other through pain, loss and grief.

For 3 years, and still going strong.

Well at that point they hadn't arrived yet, lol.

I do remember them following a member into this place, and they've been basically running amok ever since!
I think there was a stinky cat or two also.

Are you happy now that your cast is off?

I've often thought to myself, "I wonder if people wonder why it's a Shed...?" lol...so I decided to back-track to the moment when it became "a thing".

So glad you've decided to join us. Everyone who participates here is a like-minded soul, so the company's always good no matter what time of day/night you stop in.

I'm thinking of throwing a fancy dress ball. We haven't had a big party for a while, and I think 3 years is a good reason. Boy will Night Star ever be surprised when she sees that we've moved away from the trees. (for the fireworks)

I too love fancy dresses but have nowhere to wear them. I have a long silver & black sparkly gown that fits like a glove...but absolutely NO occasion to wear it.

I'd actually forgotten about the Rainbow Room Anthem!! LOL
(The Rainbow Room was the nickname we gave to the "place" we met in the original Valentines thread yeah?)

I remember feeling distraught when the Mods didn't quite know what to do with us and kept shutting us down!
I suppose that it's quite hard to "pigeon hole" a Rainbow-coloured, Dragon riding, Ferret feeding, Gerbil chasing, Unicorn petting, Butterfly flutter-bying, Orc-Hunting, Troll bashing, Rum drinking, Sword wielding, Story writing, Chit-chatting, Donut Smuggling, Poetry Wizarding bunch of rapscallions into a thread category..... maybe they should have created a Unique Forum Category just for us?

Maybe some of the newer members would be comfortable joining in, if it's not a huge commitment (just a few lines at a time). Somebody needs to go shake up the bushes and see who falls out, hehe...?

Cute!!! The nicknames our family gives us are always the very best. Aforementioned Gram used to call me sika (jesSIKA) pronounced seek-ah and I still love that unique one.

And, don't worry, your dancing skills couldn't possibly be worse than mine.

I found Jin, Lags, and Augustus in the bushes. Felt sorry for them and picked them up so they don't have to walk so far in the heels
