I'm new to politics and only 30. I'm confused about why this is such a big deal.

Seems to me like people move in and out of jobs all the time. Why is there an assumption that everyone in government is the best person alive? Seems like flexibility is key, as in any normal business endeavour. Maybe I'm missing something..?
