Yup. But is it normal for such a large chunk?
No, because it is normal. When ice sheets grow and push ice out to sea it eventually breaks off.
If it grows faster it means its colder not warmer.
I think what happens in the next 100 years might be of more concern than what happened 20,000 years ago.
Over the course of millennia, probably not so much.

I think they are doing some climate change documentaries and reports.
Perhaps this is part of it.
www.adweek.com...
I think that's the CBS "cover story".
Haven't seen a peep from CNN.
Could be all the climate change events that are happening re: ice shelves breaking off, etc.
Could also be something else.
Haven't a fair number of very high-level people recently visited Antarctica?
Why?
I think the story is bigger than climate change. I think the ice melts may have uncovered something extraordinary and which can't be kept secret any longer.
As to what that may be, who knows...
You gotta love ATS...
The hell with politics - this is something we can really get our teeth into!
What ice melts?
There are record Ice sheet growths there.
That proves global warming is bunch of grade A bullsnip.
Record "level" of ice sheet growth over a short period of time...not record level of ice sheet coverage.
Big difference.
Look it up.
If it grows faster it means its colder not warmer.

Yes.
For that short period of time that they measured.
Overall, the ice sheet is smaller...not to the degree of the Northern ice sheet, but still smaller. And there are huge melt events happening all over the continent.
But I still smell something else afoot here...

If the ice sheets are growing faster than normal, how can there be huge melt events?
Those are normal melt events that are over exaggerated and totally offset by faster ice sheet growth. If there were abnormal melting across the continent the ice sheets would be growing slower.
Throw common sense out and soak in the globalist carbon credit agenda.

May not be the case in THIS instance but...
They are also doing training to go back to the moon down there....this Antarctica stuff has come up a lot in the boards but no one seems to like this logical explanation why we've had so many officials go down there....
We are trying to get a permanent moon base set up apprently. And have been training people in Antarctica for the return trip
You can google it
This would explain a lot

in an type of flanking action... the world will be informed of a process to turn base metal/elements into other precious metals or strategic rare earths...

Sorry, I guess I should have asked how "large" the crews are.
