Well it seems that some people are unable to keep it in their pants. IMO the person should have never even took it in their own hands to try to diffuse the situation. A man killed because they were trying to care for a child, even though they were using illegal means to do so. But should that have been a death sentence?

Deputies say they were called to a South Florida Walmart after a shopper shot and killed a suspected diaper thief in the parking lot.

The shooting happened at the Pine Hills Walmart Saturday morning and the shopper opened fire out of fear for his life, Fox 35 Orlando reported. “What we have at this point is that the individual felt threatened — one of the suspects reached for something [and he] thought that it was a weapon or firearm,” Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Angelo Nieves said, according to the station. Deputies told the station the person killed was 19 and was shoplifting diapers with three accomplices.

They were loading the diapers in a car when a Walmart employee tried to stop them, the station reported.

He was shot for how he acted when confronted by law abiding citizens. Not because he stole diapers.

And where in the article did you see that? All that it said was he was loading the diapers in the car and the shooter "saw him try to grab something"

Please tell us all about how he "acted" since you were in fact there right?

If it involves diapers it's best to stay out of it.

Three accomplices ?
They were in a stolen car that was from a carjacking ?

Caring for a child, REALLY. Maybe stealing to sell.

This is pretty hard to imagine. What could have gotten into the shooters head? If he followed the victim for any amount of time, this could very well be deemed a first degree murder. At least second.

That's not what it said either what it said is wall mart employees followed them out in to the parking lot and confronted them. Then a customer thinking they needed help came over to assist. It's unclear what exactly happened next but something caused him to shoot the driver.

An armed society is a safe society, amirite?

At least my taxes didn't pay for this shooting. Private citizens express their blood lust stupidity on their own dime.

Yep. And we've been shooting each other for ridiculous reasons ever since.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an outspoken defender of the 2nd amendment. But I'm also an outspoken critic of stupidity and the stupidity of relishing our ammosexual gun culture.

Tide detergent, baby diapers, razors are all popular items to shoplift and sell on black market for nearly the same price as retail.

Wonder what a day's worth of meth goes for in the area.

Wonder if a weapon was used when the vehicle was carjacked last month.

Well okay. I agree. You may disagree with me but I think the media focus every time some guy goes off exacerbates the issue. And that it really shouldn't be an issue in the first place. It's shocking but the dwelling on it seems a bit tragedy pornish.

Come to think of it, I haven't read any articles on it, and the tragedy porn issue might just be with this website or online..

I live in Orlando not very far from there...Pine hills is a very notorious area for crime in the first place. This does not surprise me at all...In fact someone else was shot there just before this.

The article I read says that when the "suspect" was confronted, he became confrontational. Your right as far as I do not know the exact details. But if you pay attention to how it ALWAYS (usually) goes down in other related cases, once the facts come out, it is a safe bet to make.
