A federal judge over-ruling an executive order does not make the government, or the country, look weak.
What executive order was over-ruled?

I was using the OP's terminology.

Please re-read the OP.

Apologies.

OP, what EO was over-ruled?

I will acknowledge that over-ruled was the wrong term to use.

As a lay person when the judge issued a "stay" to the President's executive order (effectively negating the Persidential order until further judgement) I interpreted this as the judge over-ruling a Presidential order.

The judgement also created confusion because the individual airline carriers were left to decide if they should permit passengers to board or not board airplanes.

It isn't a "stay" either. In fact, it was quite the opposite. I'm not trying to be pedantic. The differences are important. A "stay" is a stopping of legal proceedings.

The judge issued a temporary restraining order against certain provisions of the EO.

My concern is that 1 Federal judge ruling on a lawsuit brought by the states of Washington and Minnesota was able to effectively put a nationwide hold on an executive order that was designed to protect all states.

This was after another Federal judge had already ruled in support of the Executive Order. "The Seattle judge’s ruling followed a ruling in Boston federal court Friday that sided with the Trump administration — a further sign of the chaotic legal fights underway across the country. It appears to increase the odds that the fight over the order would end up before the Supreme Court." Source: www.bostonglobe.com...

Why aren't we hearing more about why one Federal judge enforced the order and another is putting a nationwide hold on it?

Your concern is that there is a system of checks and balances? You know that there have been many cases fought all the way to the Supreme Court based on a minority being affected by laws "designed to protect" everybody?

The cases are of different scope.

Just because something in politics is concerning you greatly doesn't mean you should worry about it like this.

Ask yourself, can you think of anything right now immediately that can change this situation in any significant manner? If the answer is "No", than you need to let it go. It's ok to ponder it and research it and talk about it, but don't be so worried or anxious. It's going to be OK. Even if bad things happen, we have to accept it and do the best we can to move forward.

Be confident that things will run their course and turn out alright.

When you lay down to sleep at night, close your eyes and relax.
Release these things and get comfy and enjoy life while you can.
Whatever happens is going to happen.

Good advice.

I find I'm getting more centered in the way you describe as I get a bit older (35). When I was younger the sky was always falling, and I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders.
