So. maybe banning something is not a good idea.

Just had a thought process.

A fraction of Muslims may be extremist.
A fraction of gun owners may use them for violence.

We've tried things like prohibition to ban dangerous substances - That didn't work, problem just became black market, and worse.

I think regulation, taxation, smart policies and rules are pretty much the key. Nothing over-bearing, and nothing unreasonable.

Allow drugs, allow abortions, allow gun ownership, allow immigration, refugees, etc.. ( and for god sakes get rid of your crime-laden "gun free zones" that have higher gun crime than anywhere )

But, be smart about it.

I don't believe Trumps execution was very smart, but I do believe that desiring a few months to figure things out is a smart idea - Whether he comes up with a good plan or not, who knows what the future holds.

But when has making something people want to do illegal ever helped anything?

Why are such thoughts and ideas by level-headed people making sense the LAST idea chosen for the basketball team? I mean, if during “the campaign” or the dozens of debates somebody just asked a simple question like this then maybe we would have had better options to vote for.

You really think you can get rid of our Creator that easily ? You can ban religion all you want.. God won't roll over and die for your type. You will just drive faith and prayer underground and give it more power and blessing.

Individual freedoms provided to citizens of the U.S. (or, really, protected from denial from the federal government) are not the same things as, say, the ability to produce/drink alcohol, and certainly a far cry from the immigration/refugee issue at hand.

I'm all about freedoms for most things as long as they don't directly affect the ability of another person to enjoy the same freedoms. But that's not what the refugee and immigration concerns are about.

Of course, common-sense legislation/regulation will always be best in most cases, but even common sense gets politicized, then divided by ideology, then protested/rioted against.

The best bet is reduce regulations and legislation to the point of actually being a free society and see how that goes for a while.

But, also employing common sense with immigration and refugees. Like you said, I think the halt by Trump is smart, presuming that the fixes that are born from it work and make sense, unlike some expensive wall theory.

I know I did ... but I was making the point that it is the living God who decides who's ignorant as well as who is arrogant🤔 All the humans on this planet could abandon religion... doesn't mean God is going to role over and die because of that action.

But we do not, and we still do!
Only the insane perform the same actions expecting different results!
The devolved grunts will always want to 'ban' something or someone...
When there are no more devolved grunts, we can move on to more... 'fruitful' means.

The right to bear arms is protected under the Constitution, I don't think foreign Muslims have any standing with regard to the Constitution. As always, I could be wrong.
