I know the movie is a comedy satire and everyone was an idiot all the way up to the president and many people use it as comparison to the decline of our society.
I think where it got it wrong was idea that everyone was stupid.
I think the more realistic scenario is that there is a segment of humanity that retains their intelligence and encourages the stupidity and degradation of the rest of humanity to make them easier to control and manipulate.

I gave DC 4 points for spelling borderline right.

I have a predicted IQ, according to the Marines, of 145. Haven't taken the WAIS.

Only reason I mention that is that you claim to possess above average intellect, but instead of doing something very pleasurable for yourself in order to produce more smart people for the world (which might not happen) to ensure balance - instead you suggest having few or no kids at all... or, at least, you portray the idea.

I think someone intelligent wouldn't simply hand the world over to fools - if that is even what is actually happening.

It's called a Futurementary.

All joking aside, it's just Mike Judge, he understands people, I mean he was behind Beavis And Butthead, that show was funny because of how you could find people you knew that represented people you saw everyday.

He no doubt got his material for the movie " Idiocracy " from fans and fallout from his other shows. I mean, the fanbase for beavis and butthead were not always people you'd like to hang out with nor be able to stand.

The main reason I don't have kids is because this is not a place that I feel my child would be safe. I don't know what kind of world we would be leaving them.

Another reason that scares me, is my head. I'm around a 140, but my head never shuts off. I don't want what goes on in my head to be something I hand down. My life has not been so great and with the head I have I am now a sociopath. And that is something I would not want for my child.

Yet who maintains it certainly not the idiots in the movie.

If you want to get into some weird film theory maybe there was an Artificial Computer Intelligence running everything behind the scenes in Idiocracy and it just allowed the rest of humanity to slip into an ignorant state.

I could see a situation where hyper intelligent AI's could run our lives like some twisted nanny state and allow humanity to slip to some level of low intelligence.

I also see the tale of the haves and the have nots really turning into the care and the care nots.

Some people, are happy with just fulfilling their basic instincts and satisfying their desires as is.

Others feel that just being basic human is not enough and wish to create or learn and experiment.

I think that's who we will have in the future,

People who act more like financial cattle and people who make the stuff that the financial cattle want.
