IoT is a ways away. The communication tech is going to have to run in the terahertz level for a real IoT to happen.
A few years ago some started to worry about EMPs from a nuclear blast. So they did what anybody would do and tried to turn around and sell it as "our
data centers are EMP proof." There are several out there to choose from.
If the grid goes down by a CME then the last thing you are going to worry about is updating your facebook status!! The main problem with a "death
shot," Carrington level event is replacing the power transformers. They are practically made built-to-order so trying to get semi-loads of them
distributed around the country (and this goes for almost all countries) is a real bottle neck.
Books will always be in libraries! Unless some crazed, religious zealot burns it down like the Great Library at Alexandria. lol. So I guess the lesson
is, as always, always back up your data!
