I assume you meant EPA in your first paragraph (about being on the fence). I agree with your sentiments, but EPA has become this rabid watchdog of the left. Consequently, they probably fall into the "completely reorganize" category. They have a purpose, no doubt, but their bureaucracy and bias has become way out of control. I am for environmental controls, but I believe these functions are better performed and executed at the state level. EPA is this mammoth out of control monster in their current form. Once again, proof of "we're the government and we're here to help" failed logic.

BTW, DOI was on my list. It was right after DOT. They fall into the "gut" category.

Regarding DOT, I disagree on their effectiveness. Again, regulations are required, but they've done more to drive up prices on consumers then practically anyone else I can think of because every single one of their regulations is passed directly down to the consumer. Just the ridiculousness of some of the restrictions put on auto manufacturers alone (them and EPA) are enough to make people crazy.

So, while I disagree on DOT, I'd be open to having a discussion about modifications which actually "work" to control industries such as trucking which probably do need some oversight, just so long as we can get rid of the needless bureaucracy in some of the other regulations.

HUD functions are much better handled at the state level.

My advice to the federal govt:

1) Elevate the Bill of Rights above all US laws as it was intended to be. It was written to remind the Federal Government what they CANNOT do!

2) The 10th Amendment means you let the states choose their own laws (given that it does not violate the Constitution), so respect it at all costs.

3) Less laws are better.

4) Let the free market be free. Don't meddle with the natural balance of a capitalistic economy (not to be confused with crony capitalism, which is government favoritism). Free markets drive prices down to a lower and more stable level (via competition, and supply and demand), which will make basic living affordable for even the most impoverished citizens/residents.

5) Let citizens arm themselves without interference, registration, or restrictions. They will defend themselves from terrorism when the are threatened. Criminals will fear law abiding citizens.

6) Don't even think about integrating Religion and Government!

7) Stop funding terrorists!

8) Urge Congress to pass a Bill that will replace federal income tax and corporate tax with a fixed flat rate consumer/services tax for anyone who spends money in the US (citizens, residents, visitors).

9) Don't threaten to put tariffs on foreign trade. Its distasteful.

10) Don't lie to your country.

Im sending out vibes for people to no have fear, and to have faith that things will work out, and stop fighting with one another because there is no left or right. it is all of us in this together.
