"Andrew Puzder, * "You don't build roads and bridges to create jobs," Puzder said to the Adam Smith Society in the February, (2016) speech. "That's 'Field of Dreams' economics" "

But at least there's people put to work to build those roads, bridges, damns, transportation, other infrastructure. And then those better roads etc, might lead to other jobs.

Can't ignore infrastructure, or it literally falls apart. And it takes a lot of labourers to build it.

The planning was before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Afterward, the 100 plus was dropped to the 21 now.

At least the the total number was lower by over 100 aircraft.

Yes, that's okay, but once that buildings done, there's no job, except to maintenance crews, the same goes even now for rebuilding the roads, some are in so desperate a condition it'll take a massive force to repair, but once that's done, you are back to square one and most of the force are out of a job.
As for Andrew Puzder, he's Donald's newly picked United States Secretary of Labor.

If you think that's bad, you should check out what we are paying to the welfare side of the nation. Maybe we should take those people that we are paying to sit on their asses doing nothing on our dime and put them to work. You know... put in 40 hours a week and if you do it 4 times in a month then you'll get your EBT card filled and your free housing and utilities and medical expenses paid. Taxpayers are literally paying them to breath, procreate and vote Democrat. Let's get some value from them.

People in the military are still getting shot and blown up overseas right now. Perhaps we can get rid of two birds with one stone and put the welfare class into a quick boot camp and then ship them to find IED's on a road in Afghanistan.

Let's use those wasted tax dollars appropriately!!!

I'm on the welfare side of the nation, I'm pretty sure I've got a better idea than you what it costs. Welfare payments are not high, I get $700/month for disability and $60/month for food. I'm pretty sure I'm not bankrupting the nation. Putting aside ability to work, and the consequences of doing so (a job would force me to drop out of college for example). Because those on welfare get so little in benefits, their hourly rate would also be very low. In my case, if I were working 160 hours/month that's a wage of only $4.75/hour. Why should I agree to work for such a low wage?

If you're not starting at atleast 70% of your areas median wage, it's literally not worth working. You're better off spending your time working on job skills so that you can be paid properly. Putting people to work anyways is just taking those who are in a bad position, and forcing them into an even worse one by taking away their time.

I find it strange how people like you claim to be against slavery, but as soon as you believe you've bought a person through welfare dollars you want to dictate what they do, or even demand they work for you.

WOW, dental isn't part of medical there either?

That's insanity, it's DIRECTLY connected to your heart and brain. Have an infection too long in a tooth and you can suffer a stroke, heart attack or worse a brain infection.

I think it's inhumane to make humans suffer medical issues because they are poor, but it's a criminal act to make them suffer a dental issue while not calling it a medical issue.

and some people think GOD put us here? That's cold...

Yeah it's called infrastructure, something to make us not sit on our ass doing nothing.

Fix it!!! Teeth or bridges, lol.

The point I try to make in this thread is two major things.
All that Trump wants everybody to think is that major change is going to happen right now.
He has done EO's, for Repairing infrastructure..that's going to take one heck of a lot of money just on it's own. Then there are new building works to make the country, 'Beautiful' how much that will/would cost is best decribed as telephone numbers in a chain. Then the military 'regeneration' while it costs $ trillions already with what they have got, as well $ billions tied up in equipment that's still being developed on the fly...hence more $billions.

Then there is the piggin' wall, that will be paid by the taxpayer as well, the cost, nobody knows. It keeps getting taller according to Trump in his boasting on the campaign trail. It used to be 35ft, then it would as tall some venue building he was at..that was 80ft high. This is not some madman incarcerated in an asylum saying this, it is the new President of the USA.
Where's all this dosh going to come from? yes, the taxpayer, state or Federal or both. Donald's not going to pay for it, because he's 'smart'
The other point is his new admin, Andrew Puzder SoS for Labour, he isn't so fussed about new, 'Beautiful' things at all, though I guess he will have concede in infrastructure repairs, but Puzder is mainly interested in creating jobs, so it remains to be seem how long he will be around for if he doesn't make the right sounds. Spicer is likely on the way to the funny farm, just the other day he was as good as telling the press, not to say no, but to say yes, or just shut up. Now, Donald's 'counsellor' Kellyanne Conway, (I wouldn't mind one of them) has done a runner,(if true that is though I doubt it)...did Donald drop the hand again?

It's also a pity Trump hasn't much to say about police, IMHO a huuuge problem. I think people would be happier if they weren't afraid of getting killed by police, just for having a funny eye in their head, for instance, sad for a man who he says, wants to make everyone happy.

So he has ten years, to get it done, well no, only eight, then he will be gone. What will be left?
