First off, I had a look at The United Nations' Universal Declaration Of Human Rights to remind myself of a few of the reasons why I find the UN to be
so distasteful. Have a look for yourselves:
www.un.org...
Interesting read, lots of wonderful notions espoused, but it doesn't pass the test. Leaving aside the socialist trappings firmly embedded in that
document for the moment, I'm more concerned with what it doesn't contain. I noticed that the right to keep and bear arms was hardly hinted at in the
entire document, let alone enumerated as a birthright. The people's natural right to form a militia as enumerated in the Second Amendment was not
affirmed. The right to a trial by jury of one's peers was also not affirmed. I'm sure there are other omissions that I've missed that other writers
have pointed out, but that was what I noticed right away.
This blatant attempt at the erosion of rights combined with other possibly nefarious aims that the UN has promoted, have me thinking that this is not
the vehicle that well meaning Americans should involve themselves with in pursuit of a one world government. If freedom be the price of this deal,
then it will always be a bad deal in my opinion. Besides, we're not ready. Not that I expect this bill to go anywhere. I mean, hey, you never know,
but I doubt it.
