I've got hearing loss. I'm supposed to where hearing aids but I really like the silence without them. That's what partying too often, too close to massive speakers will get you kids! I also had an accident about 5 years ago, broke my fibula, have had no end of complications from it, nerve damage resulting in constant pain/altered sensation, something is wrong with the bone underneath the break but they won't look into anything else till they have "sorted" the nerve pain (after 5 years really?). If I had the money I'd have it taken off but that costs upward of 10k. I think I'd be dealing with it better if wasn't constly reminded of it because of litigation still ongoing.

The upside, I've had time to learn loads, I'm qualifying in accounting, business managment, etc. Basically anything I can get my hands on. It also gives me time here. I've also got to see my kids growing up which never would have happened if I'd still been working. My wife is also mega supportive, I have no doubt that I wouldn't still be here without her.

Not sleeping because of pain will really srew with you after a while though. I definatly know much more about the limits of human endurance now. Social isolation is also a real killer. I don't do well left with the thoughts in my head. I used to just work myself till my head calmed down but no such luck anymore. One day I'll have it cut off and be able to move on, till then I'll just keep on keeping on.

I've had too many medical issues to list, but my main issue is 8 compression fractures in my spine. Due to some mystery bone condition, they are in a constant state of breaking and they do not heal. It is extremely painful. I usually hover around 7-9 on the pain scale, with spikes up to 10 a couple times per week.

Its interesting how it has changed my life. I used to be very active and loved anything with adrenaline. I raced cars, motorcycles, did trials biking and downhill biking obsessively. Competitive dancing and lots of martial arts.

Its strange to have so many things, passions, just stop overnight never to be enjoyed again. It also negatively impacted my social life, lots of friends left and I have been single since then too.

However, the people that are left are more meaningful than ever. And while no one is willing to date someone who is ailing (unless they are too), it has opened my eyes to how truly meaningful friendship can be.

It has also forced me to focus on science, engineering, and inventing. They were always a hobby, but now they have become a passion. The results of that shift have the potential to change the world, drastically, should I figure out a way to actually bring them to market.

In some ways, it seems like it all happened to put me on the "proper" course. At the very least, it has put focus entirely on the mental aspect instead of being split. I've always been the type that was just good at "anything" I tried, but I never, ever appreciated it, or put it to good use, until large chunks of my life were severed.

Get yourself some marrow bones and boil them a long time with some cabbage, celery, a few carrots, and maybe a little vinegar to help get the nutrients out of the bone. A little salt and pepper and some garlic and onion also help to make the broth tasty. A few drops of tabasco sauce adds flavor too. It takes all day to make the stuff but the nutrients in it would be good for anything bone and the cabbage does help to dampen pain. You can make the broth into soup or stew or drink it as broth. It is cheap to make. For some reason beef bone broth also dampens muscle and bone pain.

It probably will not cure what you have but it might make it feel a lot better anyway. I use beef soup bones a lot, I prefer the cartilaginous ones myself for my epilepsy. It seems to dampen my overactive signals and nerve pain but doesn't seem to bother my ability to think much, no short term or long term memory dampening and I don't have any dumbing down. It does get rid of aches and pains. Here is a link as to what geletin can do. raypeat.com... another one. www.jadeinstitute.com...

Thank you. I'll definatly try that one, even if it doesn't work I'll have a new tasty recipe. Honestly at this point I think I'll try pretty much anything to try and alleviate it. I have been looking into what we eat and cut out processed food and almost all sugar so far.

Well, I hope that cancer stays away so you can be posting till you are a hundred years old.

What changes do you feel did the most good to keep the cancer away. I know it is hard to know for sure what did it, but you might have some inskling as to what three changes in diet might have seemed to help the most. Everyone is going to be a little different and also the type of cancers can vary and it may not be right for everyone. But maybe what changes you have learned can help others. It could be a combination of what many people have told you too. I am glad it worked though, whatever did it.

Thanks much, Ricky. As you said, these changes may not work for everyone, but here they are:

1. Stopped drinking alcohol. This was a huge change, as I was a daily wine drinker -- sometimes in copious amounts -- but studies have shown a link between alcohol and breast cancer.
2. Switched to a whole-foods based diet with plenty of fresh veggies (including root veggies like the rutabagas you suggested). Cut out most sugar and all processed foods.
3. Added a regimen of 8 grams curcumin (turmeric) and liposomal C to my supplements.
4. Balanced out my hormones (estrogen, progesterone, etc. with natural supplements)
5. Dropped 25 pounds and increased daily exercise, including more oxygenation.

And, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention God's help, which was the one thing that made all of the above work. 'Hope this helps someone.

God works in mysterious ways. People can be controlled by god and give you information you need to heal. But remember, evil can also get people to tell you the wrong thing. It sounds like you cleaned up your diet. They keep saying wine is good for people but in truth the negative effects can outweigh the positive effects in most people. It is a sales pitch, they capitalized on some evidence and used it to promote the product. Red wine contains chemistry that makes us putty in the hand of others, that has been known for thousands of years but the science of how it works has only been known for maybe around fifteen years or so. Maybe some knew it earlier but the articles I read about this were published in less than fifteen years.

The devil would have you believe a lie. Devil seems to be a word used to describe deceit or deception in the old writings. Satan was a being that tested our worthiness, he is similar to tales about Sanat in the India religion. I do not know where Lucifer originated nor what he is from reading the old text translations,
