Israel used them to bomb an airport being used as a military base in Syria. Or so it's being rumored.

Syrian state news agency SANA says Israeli jets have bombed the Mezzeh military airport west of Damascus, accusing Tel Aviv of supporting terrorism. The airport was rocked by multiple explosions, with ambulances rushing to the scene.

Syrian Army warns Israel it will respond after military airport bombed near Damascus

The army said several missiles were fired at the Mezzeh airport’s compounds from the Lake Tiberias area in northern Israel at about 12am Friday. The strike reportedly damaged one of the compounds of the crucial military facility.

Same article states missiles as well. So who knows which it is...

Nothing about F-35s being used. Only have unverified reports that missiles were launched from inside Israel.

From twitter as well, the Syrian army is saying missiles were used and not F-35's.

The Israeli F-35s aren't ready for combat. They only took their first two aircraft a couple weeks ago. It will take awhile before they're ready for combat of any kind.

Just a few things to add to what Zaphod said:
Of the 33 F-35's Israel has ordered, they have received 2 F-35A's and one F-35B which is a demo as they didn't order any "B"s. After reviewing the F-35B's STOVL capabilities it is expected that the Israelis will revise their order to include more of the "B" models. All Israeli F-35's will be fit with their preferred Israeli avionics and weapon systems and none of the Israeli F-35's will be fully operational until late 2018.
