There is CCTV footage of the gunman shooting his first victim. I think he looks like he targeted the person and you can't see who it was in the video. It's been reported, however, that it was an 80+ year old woman.

The gunman fires two shots.

Now, the story I read was that Terry Andres' wife was at the baggage claim carousal and he had stepped away to get a luggage cart. The shooter is firing away from the baggage carousal when he fires those first two shot and I would almost bet he is firing right in the direction of the luggage carts.

No way to really know if Terry Andres could have been the first victim. But it looks like he was definitely targeting his first victim to me.

Also...there is a person in the bottom of the screen on the video, AFTER he fires the shots, and they are blurred out in the link below, from TMZ. I wonder what's up with that? No one else is blurred out that I noticed.

He texted his oldest daughter as was customary to let her know the flight landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

But he wouldn’t leave the airport alive.

So they texted their daughter when they landed.

It resonates with me because it reminds me of how Seth Rich was on his cell phone with his girlfriend and told her he was a block from home just moments before he was murdered.

Actually, the gunman probably fired THREE times, in that video. I just rewatched it. And all three shots were clearly aimed at that one victim while the gunman walks by -- even though there were other people just as close and/or closer to him that he could have moved on to if this was random.

The first victim was shot at three times, at least, and may have been hit all three times.

Wow...wonder if he was about to blow a whistle? Just a loose end?

If it was indeed a conspiracy he must have known something big/was about to go public with it.

Or maybe a message to others...I remember years back, probably george w. administration, this high level military guy was murdered (first name escapes me but last name was Wheeler) and they found his body...in the landfill. Literally just dumped him there for everyone to find.

oddly enough the first thing I thought of when I heard the name of the guy and that he had gone into an FBI office was "Sleeper Agent". I then wondered who was killed and what their backgrounds were going to be.
So, yeah I think you guys are on to it. This Navy guy was probably killed for some reason.
The shooter did have previous islamic footprints but its very possible that those were used by an agency once he got into the military to single him out and put him through a program. Maybe he was being groomed as an ISIS infiltrator but failed for some reason. This mission was a way to get rid of him and get rid of the target.

I would have to say, he most certainly WOULD (or at least is likely to) do just that.

I have worked in mental health services for many years and have met a great number of people who have contacted authorities, gone into police stations etc and reported others and even themselves for all kinds of things such as harassment, mind control conspiracy and murder. One individual repeatedly reported themselves for killing hundreds of people and also for assisting Peter Sutcliffe (the Yorkshire ripper) in murdering prostitutes (despite being a toddler at the time he was comitting his murders). I have also met an individual who reported to the police that Leeds Utd football club were working with the police to set him up. Another individual claimed to the police that the FBI had set up surveillance in the flat across the road, he would even go to the lengths of picking up his cigarette ends and covertly disposing of his rubbish as he felt they could use it to manufacture evidence (including DNA evidence) that would subsequently be used to convict him of a crime.
Based on my experience, I can go as far as to say i could almost GUARANTEE that if there was a local branch of an organisation such as the FBI nearby that they would be turning people like that away fairly frequently. I think some people underestimate the number of people suffering with these kinds of thoughts, the complexity of their beliefs, their utter conviction in their delusions (and ability to present them calmly and in a very matter of fact way in many cases) and also perhaps overestimate the capacity of agencies to thoroughly and exhaustively investigate every single report of this nature that they are presented with.

Not saying that what i am saying here negates or supports the OP, just that answering the question about the likelihood of individuals with mental health problems self reporting such things.

I probably 89% believe he was some kind of sleeper agent and/or similar mind control "participant".

If he was totally nuts why the hell would he book a Flight all the way to Florida from Alaska to carry out this act? Why he didn't do it at the many airports in Alaska? Or all the others in the vicinity and northern US. He would of had the same effect in any moderately sized airport, but he chose to go on a crazy long flight to do it, witch is strange to me. If a crazy person wants to go on a murder spree I can't image they would be able to hold in the urge to book a flight across the us, and sit on the plane(s) for so long, then do it. Why didn't he just do it in the originating airport? Or one of the northeastern states?

What I want to know is when did he actually buy the flight ticket in relation to when the flight occurred? Hours, days, or weeks?

He may very well have been a sleeper agent, I just don't trust the media reporting it. There's a reason they feel the need to make that known to people. Not sure what that reason is yet but we may find out with future headlines.

It could just be the media trying to get out in front of the story in order to discredit it and to attempt to control the narrative. Obviously someone, somewhere wants this information out there. Perhaps they fear it will leak regardless so, as I just said, it makes more sense for them to develop the narrative rather than do damage control at a later time.

This may be just a bit off topic, but does anyone remember the thread claiming that the shooter had registered a MySpace account back around 2007 with an Arab sounding name and had posted recordings of himself singing Islamic songs? I've tried to search here for it but for the life of me I can't find it! TIA.
