Do you have more than one jacket?

I'm curious because it's winter in the northern hemisphere and a lot of people are cold.

If you have more than one, you are literally nothing like Christ. All the lip service to church and state in the universe will never make up for the fact that you couldn't move a single man to comfort when the faith of a mustard seed can literally move mountains.

I have given away jackets to people on the street a few times in my life. And nobody is like Christ. You can try hard but never quite get there.

This flashes back to the 70's when Ozzy Ozbourne music allegedly made happy healthy well adjusted teenagers commit suicide. Uh huh...

Millions of teenagers all over the world listened to the music, but only a handful of them did something drastic. Coincidentally the same percentage who did something drastic before heavy metal music existed. You could just as easily blame it on fast food as anything else. The ratios are about the same.

What people need to remember is that stage persona and costume is a show. I remember watching an interview with a woman who said her daughter went to an Alice Cooper concert and was traumatized by the giant spiders dancing around on stage. Alice was there to defend himself. He had one of the spiders come out and the audience cracked up laughing. It was such a corny stuffed animal cartoon looking thing. Then he asked the "spider" to reveal herself. She was cute as a button and looked like the cheerleader next door in Anytown USA.

I played guitar in a heavy metal band starting in the late 70's. We went through our "evil" phase, and our "pop" phase, and our "tribute" phase, and briefly experimented with speed metal 15 years before anyone else did but that is another story... I met, and played with, quite a few big names but never landed that contract myself. It wasn't meant to be I guess. But I can tell you from experience that the people you see on stage are very rarely if ever the same off stage. Even when on stage the persona often seems more exaggerated than it really is. There are always exceptions, but they are usually the ones you end up hearing about on the news or on the "gone too soon" list.

Well Metal music just releases the hate and anger from me. So if my "Evil feelings" are released, then Satanic music calls those spirits OUT of me! Where do they go?????

Maybe they find their way to the artists calling? Maybe they just go into the speaker, or get lost in the sound vibrations/waves. All I know is that I don't receive Satanic vibes from the music, I actually get some SANITY knowing that I appear to be a freakish mixed brother blasting hardcore heavy metal, causing a lot of the sheeple to not bhaaaaa at me, but leave me the F alone.

Great Thread! Now I have to find the time to listen to the tracks posted!

I listen to many types of music. And i feel there is a big differance from heavy metal, death metal, and satanic metal.

What disturbs me most is the sexual and satanic nature in popular pop music directed at young girls.

Anyone remember the fad of playing "heavy metal" in reverse?

Don't forget

Obituary

Honestly,

It's expression of one's inner self through the release of sorrow and anger, sometimes just through plain ole aggression!

But despite the artistic depictions of death and morbid angels, we're just folks who love a good tune and would help a fellow human out faster than many who claim to be christian and goto church every Sunday.

We're just not afraid of being judged and allowing our inner selves to be free.

I also listen to " underground hip hop " and " classical " music.

I'm sorry but I'm an avid slipknot fan and while I can sing along to every lyric of the heretic anthem( chorus: if your 555 then I'm 666 what's it like to be a heretic?)I don't feel it's about glorifying Satan and satanic actions.
I honestly feel it's more of making people realize that everyone has an inner duality, conflictions, but we as a culture gave socially evolved in good or evil, black or white. Their music is more about that other half that's inside of everyone.
That being said, alot of other bands go way more out there with it. But I'm an avid metal head and devout agnostic, the music is challenging to play, but I don't saboteurs anyone

You know who is more Satanic that any deathmetal band in the world? Only the greatest band of all time, AC/DC. You can't even escape its' influence on modern popular culture, despite it not putting out a "great" album in over 20 years. Death metal is for audiophiles and emo kiddies. Not sure why everyone hates Satan when he is the lead cause of AC/DC, sad to think about.

I am a musician heavily involved with death metal and black metal. I would like to raise a few points to the participants of this thread.

1) mayhem are not death metal, they are black metal.
2) slipknot are not deathmetal either, far from it. A lot of the bands mentioned here are not death metal.
3) while some death metal bands are satanic, some are not. Stereotype closed-mind black and white thinking and "carpet judging" is one of the biggest mistakes you can make as a human being.
4) Personaly I am not religious, however, while trying to view this topic from the op's point of view, I would rather conclude that anything creative (like making music, enjoying music) is of god, while anything destructive (like hating certain types of music, trying to get others to start hating) is of satan. Did you notice anything like that about yourself o/p?
5) I feel satanism vs christianity and christianity vs satanism are from the same book of "divide, hide the truth and rule". Too many have fallen to it. I rather seek harmony and balance in all things.
...and 6) Catholic priests abusing children is about as satanic as it gets. Death metal has nothing on that...

Spot on with number one and two, I really don't think half the people in this thread know what death metal even is! To the remainder who do, you already know who you are, so carry on.....

Thank you. Tired of hearing Slayer, (one of The Big 4), being lumped in with this. I am not technical by any means, but when it comes to deathmetal, my first thoughts are Children of Bodom and Cradle of Filth, not Slipknot.

Edit: Hung up on number 2.

To further your point, there is all kind of Christian rap and rock now, despite those being viewed unfavorably by Christians in the past. While I am unsure, Christian deathmetal would be not out of the realm of possibility, and there may be a "This Exists" video floating out there with it. If not, there should be.

No, it's never a decision to take lightly..to Rick&Roll someone.

And while on the subject, may we all have a moment of silence for our brothers and sisters who took one for the team.

The undertones of Death Metal is so dark and Satanic it's like it came from the deepest depth's of hell straight out of the belly of the beast. The Death Metal songs also contain violence, Satanic lyrics and beats that could summon demons. Most Metal Bands are steeped in the occult and worship of the beast. While in some rare cases some Metal Bands have spiritual and esoteric themes, such Sumerian deities, mythology and even ancient incantations.

Death Metal is a form of hypnosis and witchcraft that will lull you into a hypnotic trance, than will cast spells on you. The whole spectacle of Death Metal is a haven for the Beast and his legions of demons to devour and torment it's listeners. In all Metal Band Concerts many crowd members throw the devils horn hand sign unknowingly worshipping Satan. In this 6minute video below it shows you the top ten most Satanic Metal Bands.

Hahahahaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! Alright Tipper Gore, this has to be the best/funniest thread I have ever seen on ATS. Me and my satanic-demon trance-lulled spell-ridden tormented friends throw up our devil horns and cheers many alcoholic beverages in your honor. Thanks for the pure comedy gold!! Now i'm off to sacrifice a goat.
