Hmm seems to me it's a "in house problem" nothing to be proud about.

The UK has a thriving pharmaceutical market, not saying I'm agreeing with it just saying it's a bit silly to say "you're welcome" when in reality it's the common American suffering from the system your nation runs with.

If I dealt with national drug prices I wouldn't want my fellow citizens paying through the teeth for expensive drugs just because the US sets the price, it isn't happening.

So yeah, cheers. Bit it's only "subsidized" due to the USA, we ain't paying stupid prices on a monopoly.

The Red Tories began this in the late 90s, under Blair, and the regular Tories continued it under Cameron and May. Essentially this all boils down to a desire on the part of the powerful, to make medicine a business instead of a calling, to make caring for the sick into an industry not a vocation.

It MUST fail.

The NHS must return to full socialisation, no matter the financial cost it infers upon the taxpayer. Things that we do not need, like more nukes, must be put on the back burner or scrapped so that we can afford it, and another way we could get the money together to fix what the tycoon politicians have been trying to break for decades, is to take the private contractors our government deals with to task for industrial scale fraud, theft and tax evasion.

What are the chances that any of that will be happening under a Conservative government though? Its a bad time to be British.

And no I can't see it happening under ANY Government unfortunately especially when you consider just how many politicians are on various pharmaceutical company boards and fingers in pies

I would have agreed with you when Labour was being run by Ed Milliband, or by Brown or Blair. But while it continues to be the case that various MPs have their fingers in the till so to speak, I think Corbyn is the sort of fellow whose ideology is more important to him than the financial security of the MPs in his party, as it bloody well ought to be. He strikes me as a real Labour man, unafraid of causing himself or his associates some difficulty, in order to ensure the proper administration of our resources as a nation.

I will be giving him a chance to prove it, next time we get to the ballot box.

Damn straight, a reason exists why most of his long term fellow party members wanted him out and it isn't because he is dirty. On the contrary, he's probably the cleanest MP in the whole party.

I don't think voting alone will solve those things you mentioned in a earlier reply though, we really do need to be a vocal majority. I mean take the doctors strikes for instance, for most people not much thought nor care was given.

We need to support the change we want, I believe Corbyn can lead the way but he's just a man.

Indeed he is, but it seems to me that in order to get anything done around here, there has to be the will for it to be permitted by those who occupy the government at the time, otherwise nothing much gets achieved.

While I am all for community action, I am also a firm believer in setting the playing field up to support the right kind of community activism, and the Conservatives are not supporting the right endeavours to make that a possibility right now!
