While not zooming quite as fast as a comet, Venus can display as much angular velocity (across the sky) as a comet. The Moon as well.

So, it would seem the "across the sky" part is the problem.

For anyone wanting to take issue to my condemning the headline by saying "Well, the comet IS moving that fast..." is begging the simple issue. The earth is rotating at a speed of X . It is rotating the sun at y speed. Our solar system is moving through the galaxy at Z speed. The galaxy is moving through the universe at... Get the drift? All of these are "zooming" velocities if you are closely examining the velocities of things. But that correct perspective of several factors are ignored in a relative experience, and that is what we common viewers here on earth with our naked eyes, binocs and even large telescopes have at our disposal, a relative experience that does not approaching an appearance of "zooming."

Fake?

How about just wrong? Mistaken? Ignorant (as seems obvious to me...).

I do hope we get an amazing visible comet in the near future.
Do we have any good candidates on the Horizon?

None that we know of.
But there are plenty that we don't. Hale Bopp fell into that category. It turned out to be very nice.
