So, what is the deal here? A "Hail Mary" submission or is there some chance in hell this will get ratified? I assume not, but why the hell would he submit this in the last hour?

Does anyone have any idea?

Obama Sends Signed U.N. Arms Trade Treaty to Senate for Approval
by S.H. Blannelberry on December 14, 2016

In what is an apparent last-ditch effort to push through some form of gun control, the Obama administration transmitted the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty to the Senate for ratification last week.

“I recommend that the Senate give early and favorable consideration to the Treaty, and that it give its advice and consent to ratification of the Treaty, subject to the understandings and declarations set forth in the accompanying report,” Obama said in the press release.

The “registration scheme” referenced by the NRA is a clear and present danger which still presents itself in this latest ratification attempt. This is because the ATT is advertised as a way to monitor and control the movement of “small arms and light weapons across borders.” To that end, the treaty encourages records for “end use or end [users]” to be maintained for “a minimum of ten years” after the weapons reach their final destination. This requires the creation of a database of sales records–which would include information on the weapons and the owners–and that information would be internationally maintained; after all, this is a UN treaty.

The treaty gives gun controllers an opportunity to usurp the authority of the Second Amendment, replacing it with the authority of the UN–an unaccountable international body that lacks commitment to the natural rights which served as guiding principles for our Founding Fathers.

I'm tired of this administration doing everything they can to subvert the constitution. He answers to us, not the U.N.

Spying on citizens

making propaganda legal

covering for criminal bankers

chipping away at our gun rights

waging illegal wars and killing 100,000's of innocent people for corp and banking interests

making unnecessary drug laws even more strict, (to protect big pharma profits)

Forcing the public into paying insane prices for healthcare coverage.

What else can he # up before he leaves office?

Obama is true to his Globalist masters right till the end.

The U.N. has no jurisdiction in the United States and the Constitution is the law of the land. This will not stand.

I will not worry even if this happen to be approved by congress, when it comes to stepping on constitutional rights by foreign entities the supreme court will step in and squash this treaty.

In order for a treaty to stand, it can not supersede constitutional rights.

The "Supremacy Clause" of the U.S. Constitution is contained in Article VI:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

I don't smoke. It doesn't matter if he can pass it or not. It's all about his bad intentions and sneaky ways. Do you understand now?

Don't worry. If it does pass, Roberts will just discover that the Treaty was actually a tax all along or something.
