Id agree posture is a widespread culprit in upper back pain. I myself have been suffering from upper back pain for more than a year, and what I have
found as the largest influence on the pain has been posture. I work in electronics repair, which means most of my hours are spent hunched over a
circuit board... and my upper back is not happy. I've increased the number of back exercises in my workout routine, and they have helped, as well as
trying to conciously maintain a correct posture.
If it continues, feels muscular and not a pinched nerve or an irritation from an injury, see a professional. If they tell you to go to physical
therapy, then do research for upper back exercises and save the money. An occasional visit to a massage therapist can work wonders if it ever gets
bad.
Sometimes the cause of the irritation can be linked to a form of tendonitis, in which case all you can do at home is manage the pain and try to take
the load off the affected area.
> also, a good 800mg of ibuprophen should help calm the irritated muscles. ibuprophen is perfectly safe up to 2 grams.
