This seems highly illogical Mr Spock. The OP text says he was being evacuated from there not that he went there to be cured. Now, perhaps he got some bad vaccine while visiting the oh-so-great Nazi medical teams... that might be more logical here.

Buzz frequently goes to the south pole for medical treatment.

Secret Antarctic Nazi bases have the best health care professionals, everyone knows that.

Now did I see old Buzz pull something out of his right pocket, palm it, then hit the guy with his loaded fist ?

Or what ?

Buzz is nutter as a Claxton Farms fruit cake......And Claxton Farms is all about the nuts.

Sent of to the pole to keep him quiet in his old age away from reporters.

86 year old Aldrin was evacuated from the South Pole due to "failing health". It seems he was with a private tourist group visiting the South Pole when he became I'll. The report states that he is stable and will be moved to New Zealand.

Buzz Aldrin evacuated from south pole

It only seams right that a man who went to the moon would go to the South Pole at 86. Hope he recovers quick.

Antarctica?!?

What the hell is an 86 year old man doing in Antarctica?!

THis makes absolutely *no* sense to me...

Anyone have any ideas as to his purpose there?

I know he went to the moon.

But what does that have to do with him being in Antarctica now?

That's my question.

There is a great deal of space science going on in Antarctica. His visit there makes complete sense.

It's pretty obvious isn't it?

Admiral Byrd... Ancient civilization....

Moon landing...

Ancient ruins....

Also... How do you "know" he went to the moon?

Did you go with him?

It was pretty cool. He was funny. "The only reason Armstrong went down the ladder first was because he was closer to the door..."

I had a good laugh at that.

Ain't nothing gonna happen him if he did.

Now, we all know what really happened. Right? That was no tourist trip. Buzz was called by the top brass for an emergency meeting.

Colonel Carter: "Buzz, we have a situation. This here is a class 6 life form. It's the last of its kind in existence since the great solar wars of '92. And it's dying
. The sudden exposure to air after being under the ice for a thousand years has caused too much damage. And not one of our boys are man enough to save its life".

Aldrin: "I may have been second to the moon, but I will be first to save an alien species".

Corporal Brown: "But sir, it's too dangerous. The world needs you to continue protecting it from the great horde".

Aldrin: "Shut up and strap me to the gurney".

Colonel Carter: *placing his hand on Aldrin's shoulder* "Buzz, you'll receive the Galactic Medal of Valor for this".

Aldrin: "At least if I don't make it, I'll finally be able to tell that 'ol s.o.b Armstrong that I did Janet in the capsule".

Corporal Brown: *starry eyed* "There goes a great man".

Well he seems to be feeling better now. Just saw this on local news.
www.mynews13.com...
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, one of the first humans to set foot on the moon, will make history once again.

At the age of 87, Buzz will be the oldest person to fly with the world-renowned Thunderbirds at the Melbourne Air and Space Show Sunday.
