An oscilloscope can be made to display shapes by playing sounds into it. Making music from these sounds while simultaneously drawing images with those sounds takes things to another level. CLICK SHOW MORE
In the video I fix up and put an old oscilloscope to a new use, and show how you can watch these audio-visual demos even if you don't have a oscilloscope by using a computer.

If you want to skip the preamble and repair section and jump straight to the demo - it starts at 05:00

A lot more trippy than I thought it would be. Some really crazy scenes that come through especially the butterfly flapping it's wings.

I will say this the emulator looks like compared to the real deal, the original has its own uniqueness too it.

Eventually, we will produce all electronic music visually. Will draw sound into existence.

I had an idea for meditation to make a box...a color organ of 13 light-color lenses...to co-incide with the 13 notes of a chromatic musical scale as in A to the A octave. One color, for one note. .

Therefore...one should be able to "play" and "hear" yellow, or green, purple, white etc....Single notes? Single colors. A say...ten finger, both handed chord played arpeggio style? That should throw amazing hues at you..

I never got around to it (It was the 80's)...but did get into the tonal meditation. Maybe one day I will and be able to 'hear" orange...or "play" gold or even purple!

"In 1921, Arthur C. Vinageras proposed the Chromopiano, an instrument resembling and played like a grand piano, but designed to project "chords" composed from colored lights"
