Where was the MSM

Where was the media decades ago as our jobs started being shipped over seas and they had the chance to wake up the American public and show us how we were being sold out?
Where was the media when Bill Clinton looked them right in the camera and said " I did not have sexual relations with that woman."
Where were the reporters so dedicated to informing the public and stirring us into action when the Federal branch was extorting the states right to self rule by threatening fiscal punishment for not passing laws dictated them?
The mistrust of the media is a long overdue result of decades of abusing our trust, our belief that you were looking out for our best interest.
The media is not on our side. Not if you are a democrat, not if you are a republican...... they danced on the graves of our livelihood. They attended parties thrown by the ones passing laws that sent our jobs overseas.... and invented stories to feed us so we did not rise up.
..... and yet they continue to spin their web and prey on the gullible and weak...... and tell the young people that the America that once existed...never existed at all

Look at who they are married to in their personal lives. Look where some of these people go for work after they are done in public office.

If I'm correct, the inbreeding started with Woodrow Wilson...how they have government and press events together is sickening. It was all started to create a buddy buddy system... We are seeing it play out in the msm.

I was part of the layoffs preceding moving overseas. I trained my Malaysian replacements how to do my job. We were lied to, told the company was 'expanding', they never told us they were actually shifting overseas. Until the day of the layoffs.

The media was vague if addressing it at all. From memory, it seemed to be something about 'too many Federal regulations' in the states.

I saw a t.v. show where they had an AT&T™?? (maybe? in Az.) employee who was told to go to India and 'recruit' a few people who She thought would be able to do a job similar to Hers. They showed Her having a large room of applicants and She whittled down to these 2 guys who followed Her back to the U.S. She trained them and then She was replaced by these 2 people. They gave Her a year's salary as severance pay. Even with paying these 2 people the company STILL made $$ because of Her salary. The way the story went- Companies were catching flack for having 'tech services' overseas/abroad so what companies started doing was recruiting folks from 'overseas' so when the consumer bitched about talking to 'foreigners' the company could say they were speaking to folks in Las Vegas; Phoenix etc.

Um, no it's not a liberal thing. You seem to conveniently forget that the media shilled heavily for Bush Jr., from his illegal war of aggression in Iraq to the Patriot Act to torture... Your failure to recognize this fact doesn't build credibility.

If you want to understand the motivations of the MSM, look at their sources of income. Pay as much attention to the commercials as the news stories.

Look how many drug ads they show. Are they going to speak out about the pharmaceutical industry? Are they going to support or oppose mandatory vaccinations?

Look at how many insurance ads they show. Are they going to support or oppose mandatory insurance?

A company wants to outsource labor overseas and screw over their American workers. Who buys the TV air time, the company or the workers?

Why do companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin need to run TV commercials? Does anyone buy a jet based on a TV ad? Or is it a backdoor way of paying for the MSM's support of the military industrial complex?

Hi Jim Nasium.

Sounds familiar about training replacements. I got one more. After Silicon Valley pretty much closed down manufacturing here (moving over seas), I spent a considerable few times living on the fringe, diving in dumpsters. There were companies here that had moved in that had lots of people from overseas working at night in what appeared to assembly sweat shops. I saw these when I made my nightly route, collecting computer parts and Ics they threw away.

There were these large buildings filled with rows of assembly stations filled with people from Asia. I remember thinking hey, didn y'all move these jobs overseas? How come they all moved back?

Dont know what you thinking....that WAS the media that reported Bill and the others things youre talking about. Same media and in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 9o's until now....its where we got our info in the 1st place.

And everything youve mentioned...was in the media and discussed and dissected according to the times. I was watching and reading about these as they progressed on news, newspapers, radio and television.

It was the MSM (MAIN STREAM MEDIA).

You need to work for less money, go to your boss and ask him for a decrease in salary. Dont whine if you didnt and got replaced.

I have to disagree with you on that one....... the media did nothing to bring the citizens to arms...... and everything to show it as .... not that big of a deal....... and they helped paint every trade deal..... as a good deal.

Oh, where was the Media when you guys (a USA company I cant name) took over my old company in a third world country, just to sell us of to a Chinese company a year later after you took over all (stole) our intellectual prooerty. Corporate games is what it is called, instead of developing your own IP you take over any company that has it, and when you have it, you discard the company again, minus its IP, because now it is just an overhead biting into your profits.

What a crock of bull. Hyper nationalism, war for empire, and torture are not progressive values. Neither is tax cuts for the rich. Those are right wing practices. Open a history book dude.

The war was illegal because it violated the UN Charter, which we are signatories to. Unilateral preemptive wars are illegal under international law.

Torture, including waterboarding, is a war crime...
