Could you be more specific? Sedition, for the most part, hasn't been prosecuted since the 60's, since everything seems to fall under Free Speech.

A little different situation in 1824.

131 EC votes were required to win.

Jackson got 99.

3 other candidates got the rest.

The law says Congress decides who is President and VP when nobody gets more than half the EC count.
