A Canadian diver looking for sea cucumbers off the coast of British Columbia found what appears to be an 11000 lb atomic bomb in the waters near Pitt
island. Initially he thought he had found a ufo, till some local fisherman said "you found that american bomb from the b36 crash." In February 1950,
a Convair B-36B took off from Eilson airbase in Alaska heading towards Dallas Tx to do a simulated nuclear airstrike. During the flight the engines
iced up, leading the crew to abandon the weapon before ditching themselves. 5 crewmen died after parachuting into the freezing water. The aircraft was
located inland 3 years later, smashed into the side of a mountain. No fragments of the weapon had been found during ensuing searches. More at
