I recieved these pictures in an e-mail and just thought they were beautiful. These are images of fish that have washed upon shore dead from the tsunami. I am sorry for the long load, but these pictures are amazing and in my opinion, worth the wait.

I recognized the Chimaera Pup from a post on ATS a few months ago so I figured there was a problem with the photos.

They're still cool though.

No matter where or when they were taken, they are pretty cool to look at. I wonder if Oreo Dory is related to Finding Nemo Dory - long-lost cousins, perhaps?

Someone else posted a few of these pictures a few days back also, asking what types of fish they were....they are just amazing though. I hate that they had to die!!

I thought it odd a cooked shovel nosed lobster would wash up onto shore.

Those are some scarey and menacing looking fish.

Well, even though the images had nothing to do with the tsunami, thanks for sharing them.

What an incredible looking menagerie. I'm glad they seem to all be relegated to very deep waters because if I came face to face with some of those things I'd freak out.

Who the hell wants to go snorkeling and see that "fangtooth" or "lizardfish". How exotic yet frightening at the same time.

I was going to point out that those were coincidentally the same species recently discovered in new deep sea explorations...
but they are very cool... and exciting to see that we are always going to have new species to discover...

next stop: ...loch ness...
