Clinton Critic, Jeanine Pirro Defends Hillary. Declares Comey Out of Line

One of Hillary Clinton's harsher critics, Fox News' Jeanine Pirro, came to her defense Saturday.
In an opening statement on her show "Justice with Judge Jeanine," Pirro said the announcement Friday by FBI Director James Comey that the bureau will review newly found emails in connection with Clinton's private email server "disgraces and politicizes the FBI and is symptomatic of all that is wrong in Washington."

What I was saying all day yesterday but the Trump people wont admit how foul what Comey did was because it helps their candidate


At least here Pirro is honest and understands the enormity and problem of what Comey did...

I can only speak for myself,but as a Trump supporter-I thought that comey was a traitor to the U.S. by not going forward with pressing charges against hilary and allowing the laptops to be "destroyed".

Honestly it's hard for me to think that he is doing anything other than trying to avoid future collusion charges-you know-cover his rear.

I find it almost impossible to trust ANYONE in the current administration-and on BOTH sides of the political spectrum.

I usually respect most of what Jeanine Pirro says.

But she has made her disrespect for Comey clear since he did not recommend charges for Clinton. She slammed him hard for that. So, she can't really turn around now too easily.

Also, she has a personal stake in this thing, because one time she lost an election because charges were brought against her just before an election. Charges were then thrown out, but I think this hits a little too close to home for her to be objective.

As I understand it, the trail of events is thus:

1. The Wiener investigation team found emails on Wiener's computer.
2. The Wiener team took this to the email investigation team.
3. Both teams found the emails relevant.
4. Both teams went to Comey with the new information.
5. Comey wrote the letter re-opening the investigation.

So would you folks have Comey wait until after the election to bring this forward? if he DID wait until after the election, what would you then say about Comey? My guess would be:

"Why didn't Comey bring this up before the election as soon as he found out about it? This is an example of corruption!"

I'd rather transparency. Let the electorate know that the candidate is under criminal investigation.

Comey was way out of line during the first investigation and was under enormous pressure since then. He is now using the Huma/Weiner e-mails to redeem himself, because he knows Trump is going to be president. Trump clearly showed his appreciation for that during a speech yesterday.

Another thing to consider, Comey didn't make an "anouncement" he notified Congress that the investigation had been reopened due to new evidence.

His letter to Congress and subsequent memo to FBI staff were then leaked to the media.

As was mentioned already if he had kept it to himself Congress would have gone after him. And likely the information that the investigation was reopened would have been leaked by someone anyway, then the FBI would have looked like they were covering for Clinton by not notifying Congress.

Also, those who are calling for the FBI to clarify what the content of the new emails is (Clinton an her camp mostly) It's once again an active investigation and speaking about an active investigation is against policy for most law enforcement agencies. They didn't talk details about it before until they said it was completed, I imagine it will be the same this time.

As someone who despises Clinton, I think having this information available to the American people is a good thing.

Judge Pirro did not defend HRC. What she did was accuse Comey of pure unmitigated CYA. I do not know if she has called for his resignation on her Fox News show, but for months now she has rather widely offered her opinion he should resign immediately.

Good point. The title of this thread is very misleading.
Pirro certainly did not defend Hillary.
She believes she should have been indicted the last time that Comey did not recommend it.
She explained this when she was saying that if Comey had done his job earlier this would not be happening now.

She's not defending Hillary at all. She's going after Comey for not doing his job over the summer by letting Hillary off the hook and for making a complete mess of the whole situation both then and now.
