On new years eve I went to this great restuarant called Hurricaine Kates. I had this great desert called Crem Broulet or something like that.

It was a smooth yellow pudding with a hard sugar top that you had to crack before you could eat it. It was soooo delicious. I think there was eggs and real cream in it. I am sure that it could be made with splenda, too!

Anyone have any recipes for this???????

I can't emphasize enough how much better your creme brulee will turn out if you invest in a small hand-held tourch as opposed to using the broiler to carmelize the sugar

Thanks for the recipe, Banshee!
I bought the heavy cream to make it, but I live partime in a cabin and I don't really have a real stove/oven here... whaaa! I think that I can improvise, though.

Maybe I will make it at my sister's tomorrow. I am going there to visit. I want to make it without the sugar. Instead I will use splenda/sugar mix sample stuff that my friend gave me and pure organic vanilla extract, too, yummmm! I will still use the brown sugar, though...gotta have that hard top on it...love to make it crack!

I wonder about the torch for the brown sugar? hummm

Can't wait to eat some!

I found some other reciepe's, too that have coconut in them. That sounds soooooo good, too!
