TBS new series: People of Earth

There's a new television series coming to TBS and is apparently a comedy about alien abductions. I just found out about it.

People of Earth Trailer

Not sure what to think of it, but considering what it's about I think I have to check it out.

Mysterious Universes take on it since this is where I read about it. So giving them credit.

I liked the end of the clip though cause it's very much like a lot of my joking theories on what aliens are really like.

Oh I agree. Is in some ways reminiscent to a web comic I wanted to make but never came into being cause I have neither the tools nor no how to put something like that online.

Though mine was more different alien species screwing about with humanity for the lulz. It was going to parody many real life events by adding the influence of dickish alien trolls.

Never named it, but thinking on it Space Trolls: Doing it for the Lulz, might have been a good name.

Though not sure as there were multiple groups in the comic. Including aliens who job was to stop/reduce the damage done by the space trolls which is arguably the main group the story is focused on as the protagonists.

Well don't you have a bright imagination? I really like that.
You should solicit some help online, you have to be careful
with craigslist but there's a multitude of help out there.

Just as an example of some things they would do. One comic was going have a bunch of them laughing and joking around using a space age "laser pointer" to create holographic UFO's to make the US military chase them around like cats chasing a red dot.

And you wonder why there's no disclosure?

Also going to use supposed real events altered slightly with some exaggeration. Like when they supposedly almost caused nuclear Armageddon.

First Alien: "And the nukes are armed. Now there not. Armed again... uh oh they aren't shutting down. Oh whew there off again three seconds to spare... Wait for it... wait for... and here we go armed armed again, off 1 second to spare." Starts laughing ass off.

Second Alien: "You're such an ass Frank."

Also have many of them cos-playing and toying with humans purposely creating absurd abduction experiences, and leading them on to make fools of themselves.

Part of goal of comic was to both be lighthearted, kind of dickish and absurd at times, but also demonstrate an alternative to why things might be like they are by giving a scenario where many of these absurdities we hear about might have an explanation we don't normally consider. It was also meant to parody some of our activities and show just where we might be heading if we continue as we are and become a space faring race.

So has anyone been following this?

Wasn't sure about it at first, but I think it's pretty funny. There's a Gray, a Nordic and a few Reptilians - awesome!

Has a decent rating of 7.5 on IMDB so it looks like it should be around for a while.

This show is really good. I do not normaly watch sitcoms but because of the subject material I TiVo'd this one and it's got me hooked. Now I want a "Don't get weird" shirt or coffee mug... The talking deer is hilarious...

Pretty funny show, I've seen a few episodes, need to catch up though.

I am seriously in love with this show and can't wait for next season.

I've been interested in UFO/Alien stuff for decades and this series hits so many high spots for me. It uses humor and pathos and so much of the Alien mythology surrounding "experiencers" .

This was a fun awesome show. So glad it's being renewed for season 2!!!

This show is my new guilty pleasure. I've kept up with the entire season and have even rewatched episodes on TBS. It's got it all. Abductees, reptilians, greys and those tall blonde ones.

Would it be weird to say I've a mad crush on the tall, blonde alien? It's nothing quite like the crush I had on Mulder back in the 90s. Anyhoo...

There's a marathon about to start up in about 15 minutes. It will be the full 10 episode season. So plenty of time to order that pizza, throw a bag of popcorn in the microwave and settle in for one heck of a time.

By the way, have I mentioned the totally hot, tall and blonde alien?
