I was just wondering if anyone here actually has any real proof that this fraternity of college kids is as sinister as most here are making it out to be. Also was it that so many people have come to the conclusion that they are somehow linked with the Illuminati.

Yeah everyone agrees that it's real.

I don't know the exact quote but I'll try it...

President Bush: "...I joined a secret society called the Skull and bones, a society so secret that I can't say anything more..."

Check out those links and there's also a book that just came out last year on the subject, I skimmed through it but it was mostly a lot of suppositions, though it did have some copies of a member list and "secret" documents in it.

Actually, the quote was "...it's so secret I'm not even sure if it exists anymore."

This is just a college debate society and nothing more. The fact that many of its members move onto positions of importance and power has to do more with the fact that the fraternity picks the best students out of one of the best schools in the country, and not because of the fraternity's influence. Of course you guys would rather believe the hype because the truth just isn't that exciting...

I tend to agree with you there Sebatwerk, but there are exceptions... Dubya certainly isn't the brightest bulb in the marquis.

I tend to disagree.
Bush said, "it's so secret that we can't talk about it"
Kerry said, "not much cause it's a secret"
Heres a link:

Number 322 is identifies them as the bavarian branch of the illuminati.

And about you saying that the fraternity picks the best students out of one of the best schools in the country, why did they pick a c average student, Bush?

Skull and Bones is a real diversion, yes.
Are they the end of anything, no.
Are they the beginning of anything, no.

They are but a piece of the puzzle. I just want people to perceive it for the front group it is, not the leader of the pack that it is made out to be.

Order of the File and Claw, now thats where its at
.

I just finished reading "Secrets of the tomb" by Alexandra Robbins. She interviewed over 100 bonesman for the book. She gives a very thorough analysis of the skull and bones society. I was surprised to learn that she knew quite a bit about the society and its members.

Heres a piece from her book. I thouht it was interesting:

Finally, the society has taken measures to ensure that the secrets of Skull and Bones slip ungraspable like sand through open fingers. Journalist Ron Rosenbaum, who wrote a long but not probing article about the society in the 1970s, claimed that a source warned him not to get too close.

"What bank do you have your checking account at?" this party asked me in the middle of a discussion of the Mithraic aspects of the Bones ritual.
I named the bank.
"Aha," said the party. "There are three Bonesmen on the board. You'll never have a line of credit again. They'll tap your phone. They'll. . ."
. . . The source continued: "The alumni still care. Don't laugh. They don't like people tampering and prying. The power of Bones is incredible. They've got their hands on every lever of power in the country. You'll see - it's like trying to look into the Mafia."

Skull and Bones is real, as were the Illuminati. However snb is older than the bavarian illuminati of weishaupts devise. Both are assigned sinsister purposes, but nothing sinister seems attributable to them.

Surely SnB has had powerful people in its membership, of course, its a frat at Yale University, so its going to have the pick of the litter to start. As far as actual actions by Skull and Bones as Skull and Bones (as opposed to stuff done by people once in it), well, they don't seem to do very much of anything at all.
