Well, it sounds like someone is saying we, as Christians, should hide our faith so the government doesn't come to get us.

Then another friend mentions that, essensially, who cares if the government gets you since God is more likely to catch you in the act (all knowing, seeing, all that stuff). God, through Christ, gave us the Great Commission of spreading our faith.

This is our Great Commission. Someone told you to lead you to Christ, now you need to tell others. You need to be that light that someone was for you at some point in time. surfnaked notes that if we shut up, we'll stop being harassed (I know in the past I've used the word persecuted, but what Christians encounter in America is nowhere near Persecution). Yet, Christ told us that they persecuted him (torture, insult, hung Him from a tree, wrote a bunch of lies about Him in the DaVinvi Code, etc.) and would do so us since the servents are not greater than the master. djohnsto77's got the right idea, to hide our faith is to curse it. That ain't for me, I pray that, if there are Guillotines, that I be one of the first taken to them, because it would mean I'm making a difference for Christ.

I just came across an incredibly logicall article....it explains why most men are not real christians anymore and why many men like to avoid church because of its namby pamby 'mr nice guy-no backbone-' persona and not enough of what God really designed males for....war and rescuing those who are oppressed. How do you know what type of situations people on this board have been through and how they have responded? It’s pretty arrogant to say that, you have no idea what any of us have done to protect people in the past. Are you the type of guy that would call a combat medic a coward because he would not carry a gun into battle, but faced the same risk and danger to help his fellow men?

Then there is the fact that this situation is entirely different then many other situations. This is not a criminal/rapist/murderer breaking into your house, this is something that is preordained by God, and it is a battle of faith and between faiths. As in who is your God, this world and worldly life (what you so desperately want to protect), or God. If you remember correctly the Centurions where teasing Christ on the Cross about coming down and showing his power. He could have, he could have destroyed them all, and it must have been tempting, but it was not the will of God. If he had given into this temptation, then none of us would have been saved through his death.

There is also some difference here between several of the scenarios that you put out. I have no problem with putting myself in harms way to protect someone, but in the end time scenario, it is like Christ on the cross, it is something that has to be done the way that God wants it done. There is no changing it, no matter how much you fight it, because it is predestined. You think that by putting up a resistance you are going to change Gods outcome in the situation. You are only fooling yourself if you believe this. A foolish hope of someone that IS afraid to die, a hope that your desire to live and fight will overpower Gods will.

I will be the first to admit, pardon the language (I never saw in the Bible where it said "thou shalt not say '#'" ), if you # with my family, you pay. Again, you miss the point, did you not even read my post. I am getting quite tired and perhaps I did not state my case clearly. The two situations you are talking about are entirely different.

One is fighting a band of criminals over a crime, the second is being a criminal yourself that is standing up to an unjust government over an issue of faith.

By the way how do you figure that any of us deny that this is going to happen, I have not seen a single person here dispute that it is prophesied. So stop with the attempts to scare people into reading your site, and with the nonsense that you have some special insight into the end times. Everyone that is a Christian sees what is coming down the pike. Maybe rather then being worried about what is going to happen to the rest of the Christians out there, you should be worried about why you’re afraid to meet your maker?

Something deep in your subconscious mind knows this is true, because you’re afraid to face physical pain, you’re afraid to lose your worldly goods, family, or life.

If this were not true, you would realize there is no fighting it and no escaping it, the end is coming, and you and your shotgun ain’t gonna make a dent in its front fender as it approaches.
