"Liberating" Mosul without an after-plan is insane.

Remember when Saddam Hussein was removed from power? People cheered in the streets! Liberation! It didn't take long for civil war to ensue and cause millions of deaths.

Fast-forward to 2016.

ISIS has controlled Iraq's second-largest city for years. It has been wiped clean of all religions except Sunni-Islam, specifically a form of Wahhabi-doctrine similar to Saudi Arabia's, but with a few minor theological differences.

Basically, ISIS is Islam on crack.

It'll be a very bloody war to "liberate" Mosul, but will probably only last a few weeks.

Obama will declare Mosul liberated from ISIL.

For a few days, people will celebrate.

Then the Iraqi army will be attacked by ISIS-supporters, the Kurds, and the Turks, all claiming control. It will explode the Shiite-Sunni tensions into a bigger holy war as the Shiite-majority Iraqi-army is pushed south. ISIS will be dishonored for losing Mosul and will have their revenge, attacking any country that was involved in the "liberation" of Mosul, including Turkey, which will bring civil war there as the Kurds declare independence in the chaos. Millions of civilians will be displaced. Mosul's streets will continue pouring rivers of blood.

By then, the next US president will inherit the problem.

If America does nothing, the chaos will quickly spread beyond the Middle-East and cause World War 3.

If America becomes involved, they'll be choosing sides and making enemies, which will cause World War 3.

Of course, Hillary will be blabbing on about Russian hackers, and Chump will be blabbing about China inventing global warming. They'll both try to solve the problems in the Middle-East by blaming Assad and/or Iran, and defend Saudi Arabia against the onslaught of ISIS, which will be attempting to take control of Mecca, which is their end goal.

The Saudi Kingdom will be overthrown. The entire Arabian peninsula will go back to the stone age. The rest of the Middle-East will be chaos, pushing millions of refugees into Europe, causing Europe to collapse into civil wars. Pakistan and India will nuke each other over Kashmir. China will starve when Americans can't afford to buy their crap anymore, as economic collapse spreads. In the span of a few months, half of the population of the world will die. This is exactly what the end goal was the whole time.

By this time next year, the survivors will already be building civilization back up again. New nations will form, and the next generation will learn in school how the "liberation" of Mosul caused World War 3, all because there was no plan of what to do after ISIS loses full-control of it.

"Liberating" any place on earth without an after-plan is insane, but at least "our" democracy and freedom bombing west has enough experience with leaving scorched earth...

That all sounds very plausible, scarily so in fact. I really, really hope you're wrong but deep down I know you're not.

Their is a very detailed plan for post liberation control and rebuilding of Mosul. Erbil, Baghdad, Washington along with other coalition members have had extensive planning together on the invasion of post war control and rebuilding. Even down to reprogramming children who have only has ISIS schooling.

While down the road a possible conflict between Iraqi forces backed by Iran vs the Kurds, Sunnis and Turks is possible, neither sides forces will be in any shape to fight each for sometime. The have been planning this thing for almost 6 months.

Oh , but the Obama Administration does have a "after-plan " when Mosul is Finally Liberated . The Plan is to remove our Military Advisors there ASAP , and let the Iraqi Government Troops defend it on their Own .
