I'm a fan of these guys. I think they lost a bit of their originality when The Rev died and more of their influences shine through in the music but still good. Their new video came out today and its GREAT!!! Fits in very well in this place and time.

LYRICS:
So I arrived, naked and cold
A welcomed change from the abeyance of a ghost town catacomb
No need for counsel I appreciate the time I’m not alone
(Why don’t you get my lawyer on the phone)

There were days these child eyes
Would overlook the ugliness and fantasize
I found my heart for the first time and I awakened in me
I left myself to navigate… and oh I felt control
(It appears these sheep have quite an appetite)

Who is the crowd that peers through the cage,
As we perform here upon the stage?

As the boy became a man
In came a calm sophistication I can hardly understand
So lost in ego, didn’t notice when the time had slipped away
(Yeah, Everyone’s got a sob story)

Jesus Christ, was born to die
Leave it to man to levitate his own to idolize
We’re simply sociopaths with no communication baby
I see your angle but we differ from our points of view
(So, what’s your cross to bear)

Who is the crowd that peers through the cage,
As we perform here upon the stage?
Tell me a lie in a beautiful way
I believe in answers
Just not today

Hope my wheels don’t abandon me now, seein’ that I’m out here alone
I’m runnin’ out of fight
And the wind speaks a comforting voice, guiding me to her arms
Mother, I’m alright
It took the birth of sin to snake-rattle the mind
Before a blow to the head by the gavel of time to wake up
Won’t you wake up?
When did the walking apes decide that nuclear war
Was now the only solution for them keeping the score? Just wake up
Can’t you wake up?

(You do know this is just a simulation, don’t you?)
Who is the crowd that peers through the cage,
As we perform here upon the stage?
Tell me a lie in a beautiful way
I believe in answers
Just not today

Got to admit, they have 'fast' down pat.

And lyrically very interesting.

Damnnn. That's very good. It's great to hear from those guys after a long time.

It's almost "progressive-metal", er something.

Thanks for sharing!

ETA: Wow! What a great post. You've made me a fan. That's the best stuff of its sort I've heard in so long. I will likely buy the album.

Reminds me a little of Marillion, but I like it way better.

Score!

Sound a little Hail to the King..ish at the beginning? Was still a great tight drum intro.

Awesome, glad you got something out of it!

Yes, it surely has the Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax vibe to it. Their own flavor overshadows it surely but you can still hear it shine through.

One of my all time favorite bands. Thanks for sharing the new song.

They perform a particular song (two parts really) that has helped me and someone I love very deeply get through some very dark times.
We listen to it quite loudly when those times come.

When I first heard them before they came out on the radio I kinda didn't like his voice. But his voice grew on me like a person you would call a friends voice would. Their first album was okay, but every album they have put out after the first has been exponentially better than the last.

Very few bands do this, very very few. Most bands decline after the first album. The best do not...they get better. There are many iconic bands that put out legendary albums but yet still don't reach this level of consistency of better and better stuff.

I want to name a few more bands that have done this but , I'll leave that for another post. Should I?

Yes, they have a great sound. If you've similar, I'll listen.

I kept waiting for the curtain to open but alas, it never did.

No worries... They're that good that they need two threads
