Vladimir Putin ‘orders Russians abroad to return’ *this is prob a hoax*

The Daily Star reports local media as saying Mr Putin wants Russian officials and politicians to return to the “Fatherland” now. Link to daily star is not working in the 2 articles I saw that picked this up so I doubt this is true.

The newspaper says the edict applies to “administration staff, regional administrators, politicians of all levels and employees of public corporations” and that “anyone who fails to act will put their chances of promotion at risk.”

Anybody have some real context to add to this? All they are saying is what daily mail reported. But like I said their links are not working. Things would have to be getting serious for Putin to make a call like this. It certainly doesn't send a peace message.

I think it may be true. Apparently Russian students in foreign countries are also being asked to return.

Correct. Putin would never refer to Russia as the "Fatherland". It would be "Mother Russia"
