The person who wrote this song for the Monkees was from West Orange where I live. It is named after Pleasant Valley Way which runs in the valley
through town.

Shame the video has absolutely no relevance to the river Chris Rea is singing about.
Here's some friends of mine.....grew up with all of them. The drummer lived next door to me for quite a few years and we spent hours listening to
punk, drinking cider and just hanging around.
The song is about the town we live in and the video shows parts of the council estate we all grew up in and a 'well known' pub in the town centre.
