For natural resources, then again you don't need to invade a planet to do that. You can just plasma beam the surface and kill everything on the surface of Earth and then invade.

Aliens undoubtedly have the tech to turn energy into mass and mass into energy. And they can change mass into whatever element they want. So, no -- they have no need for natural resources.

If they needed gold, they could just park a spacecraft orbiting a blackhole and convert all the rotational energy into hydrogen, and then that mass into gold if they wanted to.

Where on earth do you make this wild assumption from?

Not the slightest reason at all to assume they can do any of that.

Because we have the physics for it, just not the engineering. It's like someone in 1900 predicting that humans will invent the airplane. Pretty common sense.

Can you please point out the scientific papers for me showing this is theoretically possible?

And yes, i know that fission and fusion are capable of creating elements other than the original, but please show me as you said where it is possible to make gold from any other element. Alchemy indeed.

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking, but gold is thought to be created through supernova nucleosynthesis -- i.e., the effects on heavy elements (iron and such) contained in stars caused by the heat and forces resulting from a supernova explosion.

The theory goes that the only elements that existed in the early universe (before stars) was hydrogen, helium, and a little bit of lithium. Once the first generation of stars burst into life, the heat and pressures inside those stars were enough to fuse some of those hydrogen, helium, and lithium atoms together to form heavier atoms.

The next generations of stars then contained some of those heavier elements, and new processes resulting from the heat and pressure of nova events would synthesize even heavier elements from those elements.

Science thinks the heaviest element that could be created in a star or by a nova is iron. Heavier elements (such as gold) would need the higher heats and pressures produced by supernovae explosions (which is a different process than a nova), and resulting in the fusion of iron/heavy elements with other elements..

It is those supernovae explosions that is thought to be the genesis of gold and everything else heavier than iron.

Hypothetically, an extremely advanced civilization could start with hydrogen and then artificially synthesize whatever elements they wanted through artificial processes that create as much heat and pressure as do these natural steller, novae, and supernovae processes.

I'm not saying this is something that some civilization out there is definitely doing, but who knows.

In general I tend to agree with the original poster. An advanced civilization capable of interstwller travel would have no need for earth or any of its resources. They'd be able to harvest everything they need from the local universe.

Earth isnt the only earth like celestial body, we've found that they are pretty numerous.

If we ever come in contact with an advanced civilization im sure it would just be out of pure curiosity.

True....but the land itself houses the resources...minerals,oil,uranium,gold,silver,diamonds.....to name a few.

They have no more reason to invade humans...no more than we humans would find necessity to invade a fire ant hill.

Hmm...think again.

And if I quote the culprit

I made a backyard foundry and melted some aluminum to take care of my fireant problem. I had a few hills in my yard, so I thought I would make an amazing fire ant hill sculpture out of molten aluminum

So perhaps aliens might also have an artistic inspiration once they decide they have to deal with the problem that is in a way in their own backyard, no?

They would have already "invaded" if that was what they were going to do.

But most are assuming UFOs are aliens from outer space. I think they are something else entirely.

Whenever we're encountered a new species one question that always pops up is what does it taste like , I expect the chance of an encounter with a species on the look out for dinner is higher than a species with our best intentions at heart.

Invasion isn't necessary , they can just sit in orbit throwing rocks until we capitulate.

Sadistic tendencies I fathom from exploring historical facts and experiencing this current day and age,are most definitely a human traits...not extraterrestrial in nature

Also finally like to add that sadistic nature is a trait humans have exuded for every known recorded time period...from biblical era before and there after....why would beings capable of so much awesome advances in tech and science...share sadistic thoughts with humans who sorry to say are far less advanced and superior than they.....what sense does that make?

A lot of non-human visitors to Earth have already died by coming here. Earth is a very hostile and dangerous planet for aliens. A guy in Arizona has killed 18 greys with a sword, which does sound like an invasion of sorts. Not many people would attack an unknown humanoid with sword or any other weapon, although some have been shot at and a few killed. So not all aliens are aware of the dangers, or their agenda is just so important to them that they take risks by coming here. The Stardust ranch is where the guy has killed greys lives. (If you believe such things are true).

Ghost Adventures actually investigated the Stardust and talked to that guy. Don't think I buy it
