Prefer it to the other recent song, I was pleasantly surprised. I just really wish they'd get a drummer :/

lol no, i won't be a disaster, i'll let someone else do that, I tried to waitress when i was 18 and the truckers were not amused haha... but it was damn fun!

btw, this was a family restaurant in town, i endured this ordeal of trying to handle trays without dropping them on my customers. That job never worked out too well. I learned a big lesson from this...morning shift sucks!

Thanks for posting this...a friend told me to check it out, but I had forgotten to do so. It is a lot better than their last few albums, for sure.

My problem with it is his voice--it sounds too "polished," for lack of a better term, than it used to. Maybe it's lacking the passion of their older stuff. I don't know, but I don't like when he sings, "Moth into a flaaaaame."

I dig the instrumental, though.

Lars' drumming style is a big part of the signature sound of Metallica.

While his drumming isn't my favorite style, it lends itself well to the sound, and certainly fits the genre well.

I'm more of fan of Chris Thatcher's style when it comes to drumming...I doubt most people know who he is.

My girlfriend and I were just talking about Het's voice a few weeks ago. As all of us do, he's aged. I too can not get myself to like his older tone or perhaps it is the polish. It certainly detracts from the old school sound they used to convey.

Even when he's performing live the songs of old, you can tell it really gives him trouble.

On Lars' style, I would have to completely agree. However the tonal changes in his kit were not wise IMO. I don't like the snare in particular.

I had to look up Chris Thatcher as I too did not know who he was. I much prefer Joey Joridson(Slipknot,Scar the Martyr) or Chris Adler(Lamb of God,Megadeth) myself.

Yeah, they're all damn good, but what I like about Thatcher (a very different genre, for sure) is his use of technical drum rolls and the like. Plus, he still, from what I understand, teaches drumline at a high school when he's not touring with Streetlight Manifesto, and I think that's pretty cool. Plus, I met him after a Streetlight Manifesto show, and he's pretty damn down-to-earth and cool as hell.

Nothing makes a better fan than being able to have a chat with them and see how real they are in actuality! Still a Rob Zombie fan because of this very reason.
