Trump's Birther Statement - Mandela Effect?

Trump and his stream-of-consciousness mouth and lack of fact-checking relies on his perceived social capital to change the world's view of what the says and what he believes - and without any strong media flap of "man, what a LIAR and FRAUD the guy is!" following him around.

The latest salvo, which makes him sound like a victim of another universe, was reported on by ABC news.

(NOTE; 'Mandela Effect was not mentioned in the article - and I don't believe it exists. I am, however, using the concept in a satirical sense.)

So let's look at the basis of the announcement as reported by ABC news: Source Article

The candidate's promise to address the issue directly comes after his campaign on Thursday night issued a statement asserting that Trump "believes" Obama was born in the U.S.

This is a real switcheroo. NBC news and other sources confirm this.

Where it goes totally "mandela effect" is in his statements of how the whole thing came about, announced in a message the day before...

And in a bizarre twist, the statement said Trump took credit for "compelling President Obama to release his birth certificate" and putting an end to an "issue that Hillary Clinton and her team first raised."

"Having successfully obtained President Obama’s birth certificate when others could not, Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States," the statement read.

I'm sure all of you remember the ongoing flap... that wouldn't die. Trump's name never came up and he was still chanting birther statements long after the birth certificate came up (in fact, he was a birther through 2015.) And it wasn't Clinton that raised the issue. In fact, AFTER it was raised they investigated and said "nope. He's an American citizen."

Oh... the "big announcement about this was actually, apparently to get people to come to hear about something else. NBC reports

"President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period," Trump said at the event at his new hotel in Washington, D.C. "Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again."

The Republican presidential candidate originally billed the event as a "major announcement," but it turned into an advertisement for his new hotel and an endorsement session by medal of honor recipients. Nearly thirty minutes into the event, he made his statement regarding Obama's birthplace then abruptly walking off stage, ignoring questions by the press.

So we're into the age of political campaigns as corporate ads, I guess or else large groups of people are constantly falling into different realities. More reason to consider voting for Gary Johnson over Trump. At least he seems to stay in the same reality.

So birthers are admitting that they've been pushing Hillary's ideas this whole time, even after her 2008 campaign officially rejected the idea (as shown in the OP)? If you truly believe this argument, doesn't that make "birthers" Hillary shills?

Gary Johnson has had actual success as governor of New Mexico. Trump has weaseled his way into politics by appealing to the lowest common denominator and making them his base, with every outrageous claim he has gotten more and more voters first by saying Obama was born in Kenya.

Well, I just watched the evening news and Trumps renege on birther-ism. So I logged onto ATS to see what all the loyalist faction had to say about it. See all their threads defending the turn-about. Now maybe I missed them all as I scrolled up and down the new and top topics of the day and son of a gun, this was the only thread addressing the issue.

So I opened your thread to see how all the birther's reacted to his statement and all I could find were a couple of statements pushing it off on Hillery and little else. Where are all the vehement birthers and Trump supporters?
