So, I've been talking to Zaph for a really long time, and one thing I'm noticing here based off the video, and then his comments alone, is that it may be something worth noting. Generally when he sees something that is plain useless, or way overblown, he'll call it as he sees it. Still interesting.

Sometimes I feel like San Francisco would be a great testing area for planes with new types of visual camouflage.
The city has a Bunch of druggies, hipsters, and spiritually eccentric people.
group 1 would think their drugs are way too strong if they were to notice visual camouflage.
group 2 would be too busy trying to find the newest band that no one has heard about and brag about it on Reddit.
And Group 3 would probably just contact MUFON, talking about a cloaked UFO flying over them and contacting them psychically.
Obviously that's a broad stretch, classifying most everyone in SF into three different groups, but hopefully you get the jist of what I'm saying.
Here's a better way of saying it.
I'd bet that the only time 80%+ of the bay area looks up to spot airplanes, is during fleet week to watch the blue Angels. No ones looking.
We had a U-2 fly over the bay without any RAM paint(VERY rare sight so I'm told) and no one noticed it, not even myself. girlfriend saw it out the window of work and knew it was special, texted me immediately: "look out the window" and this was at a time when she didn't know what the heck RAM even stood for.
I never saw it, but she explained the plane exactly, and when I showed her a picture of a NASA dragon lady, she confirmed "yeah, but the paint looked really different in color..."
So I showed her a normal dragon lady with a normal paint scheme.
Nope, that wasn't it either.
Now, I know that seeing a U-2 over a populated area isn't the biggest deal, but I still haven't heard a single plane spotter mention this über rare plane being spotted, let alone photographed flying over the bay.

That same eccentricity also means a lot of us in that neck of the woods (where I live incidentally
... one reason I was so excited for you to post the video lol) are also UFO buffs. I would LOVE to see something like this, and am always watching the sky. Have been for 25 years or so now. Very little luck, though.

I once saw something similar to this, and I swear on my life, at the conclusion of it, it shot up into the air and disappeared as fast as anything I've ever seen. And it too kept speeding up and slowing down like that. It was either across the bay near the Oakland hills, or over the bay itself. Not sure which. Around '92 or '93, due west from SF proper. Closest thing to a decent UFO sighting I couldn't explain away I've ever had though, sadly. My mother and I saw it together.

Many of us would eat something like this up. But you're probably right, most would attribute it to some other phenomena or just planes.

Peace.

That too.

I guess my bottom line is that I'm not really grasping the "shock value" in the story. Granted I wasn't there, I don't know the area - and I certainly am not with the intent of discounting the OP's story, I just am having a hard time actually comprehending...well...the big deal.

I noticed that as well. Which is why I'm still listening to my gut, but using my head to explain what we saw.
It sure had the maneuvers of a quad copter, especially if it was ¼ of a mile away or less.
This looked like it was alot further away.
Keep in mind, this was recorded with a 6X magnification Bushnell monocular. I'll try to take a photo tonight or tomorrow of the same area with more of a sense of distance and size of the area this craft moved through.

That would be helpful for those like me that are having trouble visualizing the area that we've never seen. Might start to make a bit more sense.

It's interesting how many sightings of UFO's are occurring off of California. (Manmade and Alien). The only real UFO I've seen here in the Chicago area was a craft that looked like a big yellow glowing vertically-oriented Viagra pill. Flying only about 100 miles an hour, approx. 2,000 feet up, at 2am about 3 years ago.

Not to mention, Navy's dreamland, San Nicholas Island.

I've never seen anything cool unfortunately, other than missile launches from Vandenberg.

Senior Smart and its parasite M-21.
But that's just made up out of thin
air. The kind of air Boron's green flame likes.

All those pretty RCS ranges...
I've also heard Hangars 4&5 are/were pretty cool too...
What I wouldn't give to get a look inside that complex...

Yeah, as much fun as Pax would be, I'd give your right arm to get into China Lake.

Always cool to watch that area on FR24. lots of cool planes doing cool stuff. Hawker hunters and others flying in formation. Nothing military that I've encountered, but definitely lots of aerospace companies fighter jets that I'm assuming are hired by the Navy or whomever to represent bad guy squadrons.
I see the refueler call signed OMEGA71 doing lots of pretty circling patterns around there pretty frequently. As well as in the R-2508 as well.
Probably won't be seeing 71 for a while though, last time I checked she was on her way back from Guam

That's one of the Omega 707s that the Navy contracts for refueling missions.

I did my homework and figured out the tail number. Pretty easy after that. But I'm glad I'm not the only one to provide this info.
Pretty coincidental that those Bones did a show of force in the Korean peninsula in the past few days, right around when I saw 71 coming and going from Andersen.
But this thread is getting a bit off topic..
