Another new person here. I'm a college student from, but not in Pennsylvania and I won't be more specific because I'm trying to develop a healthy
sense of paranoia. I thought it might be interesting to lay out how I got to this site:
I woke up this morning to my alarm clock at 9AM Eastern time, tuned to this radio show hosted by a guy with a weird accent who talks about classical
music. Today he mentioned the innovation of the metronome, Beethoven's mocking song of the man who invented it, and the incorporation of its melody
into his 8th symphony, the whole time comparing the rhythm to clockwork. That stuck in the back of my head until I got back from class, when I
proceeded to reset the alarm, which reminded me of the earlier subject on the radio, which reminded me tangentially of the Old Faithful geyser. At
that point I remembered some magazine article mentioning that Yellowstone Park was on top of a giant volcano, so I spent the next few hours on the
internet looking up information on that. Somewhere on page 4 of the Google list was a thread on ATS discussing the Yellowstone volcano, and so after
reading that I went on to check some other threads, and here I am.
