Nostradamus Quatrains 8/77, 6/24, & 5/41

Quatrain 8/77
"The Antichrist soon annihilates the three
His war will last for twenty-seven years
The heretics are dead, made captive, or exiled
The water is thick with blood."

Another quatraint 6/24 implies a starting date for the war somewhere between July 1999 and June 2002.
He deplicts a configuration that will occur on June 21, 2002

Quatrain 6/24
"Mars and the sceptre will join
There will be a calamitous war under Cancer
Soon afterwards, a new king will be anointed
Who will bring long term peace to the earth."

Nowhere does he suggest that the war will be short.
He does imply, on more than one occation , that we will come through the war, thanks to the emergence of a new king, or Messiah, who will be born during the eclipse. According to quatrain 5/41, the new saviour is predicted to be born August 11, 1999.

Quatrain 5/41
"Born on the day of an eclipse, in the shadows
He will be supreme in rule and goodness
He will renew his blood in the ancient urn
Causing the golden age to turn to brass."

Anyone want to draw comparisons about "His war" and the self proclaimed "war president"?

Probably way out in left field here but here goes....

Could your interpretation of 5/41 be talking about Pope John Paul II? I believe Pope JP II was born during a solar eclipse and he is thought of as being supreme in goodness. It is said that JPII's death will be about the time of the chastisement so could that be the meaning of the last two lines?

After reading your post I decided to check on the when the next eclipses will happen, assuming this prediction hasn't already come to pass.

4/8/05 - Partial eclipse beginning in the New Zealand area and headed towards south america
10/3/05 - Full eclipse beginning in the atlantic and heading towards spain, northeast africa, and the indian ocean
10/17/05 - A small partial lunar eclipse that will be visible in parts of Asia, australia, and north america.

At first I was trying to match up dates with numbers from the quatrains.
The closes I could see was 5/41 possibly linking into the 4/8/05 date.
The one would still have to be thrown out though...

I haven't spent much time at all deciphering the work of Nostradamus, so I'm confused how you got the dates you posted.
Oh well, either way, I hope you find the information about the upcoming eclipses usefull...

From the sky will come a great and frightening king
To revive the great King of Mongolians
Before and after, Mars reigns in good time"

There is no doubt about the date! Anyone want to guess who was elected in November 1999 and later had the actions (of invading as opposed to defending) reminisent of Genghis Khan?

Quatrain 3/34
"At the eclipse of the sun
The monster will appear in broad daylight
Interpretations will differ
NONE will have forcast the great cost."

The TOTAL eclipse over Europe (from where predictions were made) of August 11, 1999 is foretold as the percursor to the appearance of the monster. It seems that the monstrous one will not at first be taken as seriously as he should be, but the consequences of his manifestation will be greater than anyone, including Notradamus himself has predicted.

Quatrain 10/10
"Stained with murder and terrible adultries
A great enemy of all mankind
He will be WORSE than any of his male forebears
In steel, fire, water, bloody and inhuman."

As I said, I haven't spent too much time on the man's predictions, so am relatively ignorant to his work.

One question I'd like to ask though...
How were the quatraines numbered?
I see all of the quatraines are given a #/#, so what is the signifigance of the numbers?
Were they simply expressing the order in which he made predictions, or do they have a deeper meaning?

Just wondering...

Wait, he said the year 1999. I was under the impression he was using a different type of calender.

Seventh month is September not July. Sept meaning seven.

3/34 could very well refer to a heavenly object that will be first seen during an eclipse of the sun. Certainly no one would have provided for it. (shades of planet X)

10/10 usually refers to Napoleon.

The Centuries and Quantrans were jumbled by Nostradamus and are in no order and written very obscurely because he was afraid of being thought a heretic and taken by the inquisition. It is very difficult to use the quantran for the future, they are difficult enough to see looking back. He did say that when 20 years of the reign of the moon is passed (contemporaries of Nostradamus believed the reign of the moon ended in 1889) another will take its place for 7000 years then the weary sun and my threats and prophecies will be complete. (This is not word for word I do not have my prophecies before me and I am relying on imperfect memory.) However, you can see there is an awful lot time to go before the prophecies are finished and one cannot squeeze them all in the 20th century.

He refers a lot to three brothers born on the banks of the Montreale and it is generally thought to be their annihilation that is referred to.

How would a person in the 1500's describe a "live" image of a King (President) appearing around the world on a TV Screen. It would seem he came out of the air or from the sky?

The antichrist is probably not Jewish...he will be European probably a EU politician or monarch. The False Prophet does have to be Jewish though.

Yes, in the generally accepted calendar...but some non-christians don't
regard 1 Jan. as the beginning of the year thats a church directed thing.
The Real New Year Starts On Spring Equinox [21 March]...
so count 7 [LUNAR] months from then! viola the actual Nostradamus date.

regarding:

Born = ENTRY INTO THE WORLD !
- -> not necessarily the period after gestation or natal birth.
(does that open a few more doors or what??)
